Couldn't agree more. The best way to stop smoking is to not start to begin with. I started when I was 13 because it was cool, and in Canada at the time, you could smoke literally anywhere except banks. So what my friend and I did was wait outside the bank near our school, and when people would put their half smoked cigs out in the sand ash tray, we would grab them and smoke them.. yes even the one's with bright red lipstick on them.. So gross now thinking about it. I bought my first pack shortly there after, Menthol I think, and haven't looked back. It is extremely addictive and the best I've been able to do over the years is smoke ultra light cigs, and I put them out half way through because I read somewhere once that all the bad stuff is near the filter, and the closer you get to that the worse off. Not sure if there's any truth to that claim but it works for me.
Never start, and once you get to an age where reason trumps stupidity, you'll never pick up the habit, IMO. How often do you hear about someone over age 25 picking up the habit? Very rare..
