When it's destroying this country, it damn sure is. The only stake in this country those voters have is getting freebies from the FedGov.

Why spend so much money time and effort correcting a problem you dont even know exists? I have a pretty good idea why.

Maybe it's a trust issue with me but, why not cover any loopholes in the system just to be sure?

No one is saying they can't vote or that they do not have a right, only that they must prove that they have that right.

It's not rocket science, and YOU HAVE NO GOOD REASON not to agree.

what most people seem to agree on is that voter fraud is not a widespread problem. the odds of people committing in person voter fraud is so low, you are more likely to be struck by lightning.

Actually that is pretty much a republican meme. Most people realize the GOP does not have their best interest at heart unless they are a major corporation, and they vote accordingly. It is not because they want freebies, it just might be because hte GOP is wrong about most of their tenents. The only way the GOP can justify most people voting against them is not to discuss the topics, but the call the other voters names, like freeloasers. Keeps the base from thinking much.

If it keeps one single American from voting that should be able to, It is a problem.

Your uncertainty isn't a valid reason for disenfranchising an entire bloc of voters, which in itself is beside the point because your own motives for wanting this were already made explicitly clear when you said

You mean groups that are basically the 'takers' of society that vote Democrat. Haven't we seen the result of letting those groups elect our leaders?

    Is not racism, it's economics.
The moment you said that, your "it's to stop voter fraud!" argument was exposed and lost all credibility. But at least you were honest when you typed that and for that I give you credit.

and when politicians say things like that, they end up angering the people he insulted and increasing the odds that they will vote for his opponent.

No one has to call people 'freeloaders', there are stats to prove they exist.

I don't think it's right to be able to vote yourself freebies which is probably the only reason you vote at all.

BTW: it seems there was a big stink back in the 2000 election where the tables were turned.
