    Senate Releases Report on Benghazi

Senate report: Benghazi attack was preventable

    Adam Goldman and Anne Gearan
The report notes that 15 people “supporting the investigation or otherwise helpful” to the U.S. have since been killed.

A long-delayed Senate Intelligence Committee report released Wednesday faulted both the State Department and the intelligence community for not preventing attacks on two outposts in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans, including a U.S. ambassador, about 16 months ago. The bipartisan report laid out more than a dozen findings regarding the assaults on a diplomatic compound and a CIA annex in the city. It said the State Department failed to increase security at its mission despite warnings, and blamed intelligence agencies for not sharing information about the existence of the CIA outpost with the U.S. military.

Re: Senate Releases Report on Benghazi

Fox News national security analyst KT McFarland ignored key findings in a new bipartisan Senate report on the attacks in Benghazi to revive calls for a special prosecutor or select congressional committee to further investigate the attacks, despite the fact that the new exhaustive report is largely in line with previous investigations.

On the January 15 edition of Happening Now,McFarland discussed the newly released Senate Select Intelligence Committee report, declaring it a "bombshell." She went on to conclude that the report proved Benghazi is "not a phony scandal" and that it showed the need for a special prosecutor or special select committee to investigate "more unanswered questions."

Newsflash: A liberal begs to defend the hildabeast and obummer from any wrong. "What does it matter" right? People are dead not going to bring them back so why do we care as long as we got obummer and the hildabeast.

    Thank you for that Pete.

I didn't know that Fox News had any prosecutorial powers. Thanks for letting me know...

Also, I'm glad to know, at least in your opinion, that what Fox News says is just as important as what the US Senate says.

However, in my opinion, neither Fox nor MSNBC have any importance in these legal matters especially when compared to the US Senate or the US House of Representatives.

I know you're fascinated by Fox, but I have to file this under "Who cares?" The Senate report is damning enough for any Hillary hater.

my question is what is so groundbreaking about this report?

here is one key passage from the senate report

The Majority believes that the terrorist attacks against U.S. personnel at the Temporary Mission Facility and the Annex in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 and 12, 2012, were likely preventable based on the known security shortfalls at the U.S. Mission and the significant strategic (although not tactical) warnings from the Intelligence Community (IC) about the deteriorating security situation in Libya.
    http://www.intelligence.senate.gov/b...4/benghazi.pdf

and for comparison here is a passage from the state departments own internal report from 2012:

Systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department (the “Department”) resulted in a Special Mission security posture that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place.
    http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/202446.pdf

    don't these passages sound similar?

    that is just my opinion.

Do tell what was damning in the report, Jack?
