A British woman tried to sue her divorce attorneys, claiming they failed to properly explain to her that getting a divorce would end her marriage.

Jane Mulcahy argued her lawyers did not make it clear to her that divorcing her now ex-husband would cause the marriage to be terminated, the Independent reported.

'Ya know, that is not something she should have learned from her lawyers. That is something she should have learned when she was taking English grammar in the third grade. LMAO.

Someone please help me understand what this woman could think a divorce was? This makes no sense what an idiot :(

I wonder what she thought "divorce" was in the first place?

To be fair, apparently there is a middleground in British law that gives a bow to the RC Church called judicial separation. It separates the two but doesn't count as divorce to the Church. That is what she was seeking.

Killjoy.

The only thing that I could think of is the idea she may have thought a divorce was some sort of financial arbitration or a prenup after the fact.

Should have put humor in the title and posted it in off topic then. Some of us read the links before commenting.

I guess I'm going to have to be the one to risk looking stupid and ask, is there any problem with her and her now ex husband just getting married again?

Good question. In the US obviously not, but I don't know a damn thing about English Law (or even much about divorce law in the US).

I'd assume they could get remarried again. I know it happens all the time in the US....

Just when you begin to think that you've heard it all something like this comes along.

How can anyone be so frickin' stupid and still remember to breathe?

The lawyers in this case will likely have a little longer talk with future clients.

The larger idiot is her new lawyer.

Seriously? Has it come to the point that every single common English word has to be explained in words of one syllable?
At first I thought this was a joke until reading it from several blogs, I guess the lady have to learn few more words to
avoid such problems in the near future.
