You don't choose who to purchase electricity from, BTW. You either purchase it from the one provider you are given or you don't get electricity. Even if government-sanctioned monopolies ended tomorrow, this wouldn't change.
    Depends on where you live.

Your solution to an abusive power company is literally "don't have electricity." For some reason, you think this means more freedom.

Your response doesn't follow the trajectory of the discussion. Electric utilities should not determine which appliances are appropriate for use. If it were the case, they would be financially inclined to prohibit efficiency saving devices. That market concentration obstructs new supply is just another reason to reject your position.
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

No it doesn't. The nature of electricity prevents real competition in this manner.

If the electric utilities infrastructure would be degraded for all based on you turning on your super-microwave, then they would restrict your power draw as to not degrade the system.

No you would have competition between two technologies.

You can make all the excuses as to WHY a solution that hasn't been invented can't or won't work. The simple fact is that if there is a demand there will be a solution developed.

No all they can do is refuse to supply you power. If you are willing to pay for it, how you use it is your business.

I only need point out the fact that it hasn't been invented. A solution that hasn't been invented can't work because it hasn't been invented.

By your logic, there is not enough demand for warp drive.

No.... As with any large company, the will work with you to safely and efficiently meet your energy needs. If a residential customer is drawing obscene amounts of power from the grid, they will only investigate if it continues to occur. In fact, the police use this information to target illegal cannabis growers in non medical/decriminalized states.

What you have just described is pure fantasy.

Of course it hasn't because up until yesterday there was really no need for it. What do you think, thechnologies are developed in 24 hours!
