Yes, in so much as it is a federal law.

Its not limited though. We have mulitple ways to transmit energy, via cables, radio, light, vibration, even future tech like quantum entanglement. Whats the difference between Comcast charging me more for HBO, and charging me more for youtube? Just a matter of perspective. This is why govt needs to stay out of it. Let customers and producers figure it out.

Eh, this isn't necessarily always true nor is it a truly "free" market. This is evidenced by the limitations on the cable and phone companies throughout the country. Where I grew up, if you want cable you have to go with Comcast. That's it, that's your choice, largely thanks to regulations. If I want Cox that's too bad...I'm stuck with Comcast or Comcast.

That's not a free market, and it's an integral portion of the ISP market, which is why this continued refrain of "It's a free market" is ridiculous. It's a market that's already HEAVILY regulated, and said regulations make actual substantial and significant competition extremely difficult. So either REMOVE the other regulations OR put down regulation that protects against the problems the past regulations help cause.

Yes. So if you want to push to remove that state intervention to try and "fix" the potential problem, that's great.

UNTIL that happens, the problem still exists and steps should be taken to combat it. You can't on one side scream "FREE MARKET" in support of killing net neutrality and then on the other side acknowledge it's not a free market.

Government involvement has created a situation where the oppertunity for this issue has arose; it's no more or less a "free market" if government involvement stops that issue from happening becuase it's government involvement that created the oppertunity in the first place.

I don't. If they do, it creates an opportunity for someone to setup a competing, open infrastructure......for a price.
