It does indeed sound crazy...to hear that someone isn't already expecting such behavior from our criminal Justice system.
Cops get arrested for stuff around here all the time. Drugs, domestic abuse, DUI.

This guy was retired, 71...maybe he had Alzheimers or was starting to get senile.

Which states? NJ? MD? IL? WI until very recently? (not a complete list)

Otherwise, you probably be very surprised at the number of people that are armed. I mean...how would you know?

The overwhelming majority don't. However, the younger generation is really grabbing the concept here and jumping on the 2A wagon. I can't tell you how many people are getting into it. Girls especially.

As for that number, I'm going just based on licenses and population of the country.

What's odd, CA has one of the highest number of gun owners in the country. Sort of an anomaly. CCW licenses out there are like unicorns though.
What's the population of MA? 400,000 isnt that few if you remove anyone under 21 (18 in MA?) that cant cc and alot of elderly people in homes, felons that arent supposed to, etc.

Being in your own home and protecting yourself from an intruder is a pretty clear cut case. There is little question lethal force should be an option for the defender. An armed person in public is a very different situation. Now they are entrusted with the responsibility of when to use lethal force in an environment that rarely requires it. You get idiots like Zimmerman who go looking for trouble then have to kill their way out in fear. You get this guy who apparently snapped and killed someone over texting in a theater... The point I'm trying to make is that CC is not a unipolar positive, there are negatives associated with it as well.

Every person I've known that does CC makes it widely known to everyone, on Facebook, in person, at work. That's all people talk about around here is guns so it would be pretty rare for somebody to be packing without making mention of it. Now of course this doesn't cover strangers in public but even among gun fanatics most don't CC that I know of. They keep them in their homes and go hunting, and target shooting, and display them on their porch to every visitor they have over.

LOL Almost no one I know knows or would even dream I carry.

So you are right, it doesnt cover strangers in public and you really have no idea. People do not discuss it for a reason.

According to Utah cc'ers on the gun forums I'm a member of...they are quite common. (It's a popular topic of discussion)

Please compare most of your statements to driving a car. Not only that, the numbers prove that cars are BY FAR much more dangerous. Intent has nothing to do with it, road rage is common but not even the biggest threat...either you are at risk from complete strangers every day or you or not. Then look at numbers and likelihood. It's interesting that NO ONE looks at car drivers with the same trepidation as gun carriers.

Car drivers are indeed looked at with similar trepidation.... Just look at all the laws created around the use of a car. They go MUCH further than owning a gun.

I do too, but then I favored that with Zimmerman also.
