    So do I (re: vehicles)

In general do I regard CC'ers as sometimes dangerous? No more so than other people out in public.

Actually I hope every idiot who feels they have to text everywhere reads this and lives in constant fear. While I don't endorse the retired cop shooting this asshat, perhaps it will act as an example that will moderate the future behavior of the morons who can't put their phones down.

Well, the ex-cop was obviously cursed with that annoying Type A/Alpha Dog personality that makes up a lot of today's police forces. But, that being said, we do need cops. Some bullies just never grow up.

So, take an Alpha-Dog kind of person, add a gun to the equation, along with a person unwilling to cry, "Uncle," to the Alpha Dog and submit themselves to the Alpha Dog's self-conceived notion they have a right to rule over others and make them submit, and this is what you get.

The news clip I watched, unless I did not see it correctly, the ex-cop who was charged with 2nd degree murder wasn't even handcuffed when he was taken to the police car. I suspect he was given high-fives at the police station. He'll probably get probation, if anything at all.

Folks, the police state is coming. Best adapt and improvise.

Regardless, it doesn't change this particular case. Even if thrown popcorn hits you in the face, your life is not in danger.

I didnt say it changed anything...or claimed his life was in danger.

If anything, I implied the opposite, but that would only have been coincidental subtext.

Ah yes... the ole "I am scared for my life despite being armed to the teeth" excuse for shooting people. Seems all the rage these days!11!11After all, it's 'Merica for ****'s sake, and anyone in 'Merica can shoot people because they made them pee their pants in fear. Boo!

This is the other side of the coin. Some times having a "good guy" with a gun ends up being far more dangerous than what would probably have been a simple assault or verbal spat. If we had several times more people running around with firearms for "safety" I wonder how many incidents like this would increase. Humans can lose their temper and react irrationally in the moment. This reminds me of another story where a guy leaving his driveway in his truck was accosted by a door to door salesman and shot him point blank out of pure momentary rage.
Cops have broken brains.... The judicial system has reenforced time and time again that cops are above the law and can do whatever the hell they want, when they want without consequence or minimal consequences.

Cops shoot first and ask questions later.... That's why they love their tasers - they just love the idea of hurting anyone who doesn't obey their commands - even off duty.

Hell, look at all the off duty cops here in Chicago that have gotten busted for beating the **** out of people while off duty "for not getting their way" and have gotten off with a slap on the wrist and in some cases even kept their job...

Look at Drew Peterson (2 dead wives) while he plays stupid and his cop buddies believe it was all a coincidence...

John Burge is another example here in Chicago - that **** tortured people into confessing to crimes they didn't commit for 20-years straight before the truth came out about that sick clown (he only got 4 years)...

Cops are bad people who once they have it in their mind that you're a bad guy or a "punk" they believe they have the authority to use any force necessary to resolve THEIR problem with you (not a problem but THEIR problem)...

25% of the 100k CC permit holders in Utah. If 100% of them carried at all times it would amount to about 3% of the population.
