Phones as well as guns have no place in such a venue. Why do you need to check email in an entertainment room? Why is it even turned on? You and the hundreds of others have paid to be there to see the show. All of it. The woman was right to complain and should have called a manager to tase you out of the building until you attained a level of social awareness such that you were tolerable in the company of humans.
Lot's of people check their phones or send out texts before a movie starts. Has nothing to do with what you're talking about. Furthermore this ex-cop did talk to management and they probably told him to get lost since the movie hadn't started yet.

So you are right, it doesnt cover strangers in public and you really have no idea. People do not discuss it for a reason.

According to Utah cc'ers on the gun forums I'm a member of...they are quite common. (It's a popular topic of discussion)
About 100k Utah residents do CC out of a population of 2.8 million. At any given time perhaps 25%? of CC'ers are carrying. I really have no idea how to guess how many permit holders carry all the time. At that rate less than 1% of the population is likely to be carrying a firearm which is pretty consistent with my general observations. That is not a lot.

It's interesting that NO ONE looks at car drivers with the same trepidation as gun carriers.
Do you think its unfair to consider cc'ers as sometimes dangerous? And yes I consider every other vehicle on the road with me as a constant threat that is trying to kill me. I spend a lot more time worrying about a vehicle slamming into my daughter's face than a bullet.

I dunno - considering odds are probably [randomly high-numbered "statistic" pulled out of my ass] high that institutions that have them are using so in violation of federal law.

Yes hence why they are illegal - even with the number of restaurants, theaters, schools, etc that use them:

I was looking at the headlines and reading through a few of the stories.
I will reserve judgment until we have more information.
It is possible that Reeves felt threatened.

How do you go from 25% to less than 1%?
