Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22:118]

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

Controversial figure to say the least and no matter what you think of him you have to agree he re-shaped the middle east,

"As one who fought in all of Israel's wars, and learned from personal experience that without proper force, we do not have a chance of surviving in this region ... I have also learned from experience that the sword alone cannot decide this bitter dispute in this land," Sharon said in 2004

Personally I think Sharon created more enemies and ideological hardliners but afer 8 years in a coma and a lifetime of fighting I wish him peace.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

They kept him alive for quite a while. He has been brain dead for a long time. I wondered why they did that.

Yeh strange one isnt it, if I'm honest until recently I thought he was dead.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

I won't miss him, like I didn't in last 8 years. :peace

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

May Prime Minister Sharon rest in peace. In his years of public service, he courageously worked to advance Israel's interests and one can't expect more from a statesman than that.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

good for his loved ones, the man was already dead but his body was being kept alive and now finally he has his peace.

I will not go into his role in history because I am not a fan of Sharon (quite the opposite). All I will say is that he was not a friend of peace.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

One of the most influential characters in the history of the state of Israel.
Has done more than anyone else to ensure its continued existence and prosperity.

May he rest in peace.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

RIP. He was a very divisive and controversial figure for whom I've never had a vast amount of respect, but there have been worse, and he's dead, so RIP.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

RIP, Mr Sharon, and my condolences to the family.

re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

I don't think any of us can really imagine what it was like for his family and friends to see someone they care about laying in a vegetative state, and not being able to communicate with him for 8 years.

He's finally at peace now and may he RIP.

Ariel Sharon: Profile of an
Unrepentant War Criminal

by Jeffrey Steinberg

Editor's Note: This introductory article appeared in the May 17, 2002 issue of Executive Intelligence Review. The following supporting material is drawn from previously published reports:

Mideast War, Sooner Rather Than Later (January*2001)
Ariel Sharon, the Prime Minister of Israel, is currently facing possible war crime prosecutions for two massacres that occurred 20 years apart: the September 1982 massacre of Palestinian civilians in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon, and the April 2002 Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) mass killings in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.

Sharon is, without doubt, guilty of these crimes against humanity, and others. He is also unrepentant. For him, these mass killings are merely necessary steps on the path toward his objective of a "Final Solution" to the "Palestinian problem," through the mass expulsion and/or extermination of the more than 3 million Palestinians and Arabs now living in Israel, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights. Under various labels, Sharon and a rogues gallery of collaborators inside Israel, Britain, and the United States, are now moving toward the final phase of their "mass transfer" plans for the Palestinians and Arabs.

EIR has "written the book" on Sharon's blood-soaked career for over 30 years. (See 1994 Profile.) As a service to the current worldwide debate on his government's fascist actions, we provide this summary dossier on the Israeli mass murderer. This summary is linked to a compendium of earlier exposés of Sharon and his partners in crime.

He was in a coma for 8 years. There have been no advancements in the peace process during that time. It serves no purpose to point blame at events of the past, we have to look to the future. Keep living in the past and there will never be a positive future for ALL the people there.

Keeping looking for reasons to hate each other and the song remains the same.

Re: Ariel Sharon dies.[W:22]

He'll go down in history as one of the great enemies to tyranny and oppression; a hero to freedom and liberty. General Sharone planted thousands of terrorists.
