I've said nothing of the sort.

Nope ... the definition tells the story.
Your conclusion is simplistic ... faulty.
Tells what story? Because your original premise is dead in the water. The U4 rate is always higher than the U3, by definition. The number of Discouraged workers has not increased, while employment has. These facts do much to explain why you've glaringly failed to provide any documentation for any of your claims in the way of supporting data.

Did you know that currently the Government considers you to be in the U3 group only if you've been looking for work in the last 4 weeks?
That should help disguise how crappy the unemployment really is and enable Administration supporters to keep the scam going.
The bolding of the term currently is rather unnecessary. This is the definition that has been used for many administrations prior.

    Greetings, Bubba.
Yes. The bureau also seasonally adjusts to account for these discrepancies. Thus, the headline figure for these months will typically be significantly lower than the actual amount of positions added.

If you need to hire a bunch of people maybe, but we are looking for specific people, not place holders. If you are relying on finding a job using those methods the job you land is going to be one of those soulless corporate positions anyway. I wouldn't want one of those. The people I hire are persistent, and they keep showing up until I either hire them or tell them why not. It's the same way I did it when I was looking for work. I get plenty of people who walk in and hand me a resumee and never come back. We call it drive by application and it is reserved for those who don't really want a job or are just checking the box for unemployment.
Small businesses like what? Only "small" businesses that hire around where I live are restaurants, mostly. Care to share what sort of business you run?

Becoming a soulless corporate shill is more or less an inevitability for most of us, as most of us are ambitious and desire to have earning potential beyond 50k a year some day. Larger outfits provide room to grow. Small business jobs tend to be dead ends.

In progressiveland the government exists to financially support you - and that breeds a **** ton of lazy clowns that don't know how to do a damn thing other than suck off the governments teat. This is why it's more logical to continue to accept unemployment and welfare rather than get a part time job - because the benefits exceed what a part time job can provide.. The problem is that the majority of available jobs are PART TIME - sadly but true (thanks Obamacare).
please tell us why it is smarter to work part time and realize less money

It's not smarter but the only jobs available are part time jobs - Obamacare did that.

The problem is that the government benefits exceed what a part time job can provide, hence moot the entire idea of having a part time job or even a full time job at McDonalds or wherever that pays minimum wage.

Politicians are epic idiots.... Most don't know this because they have never worked an honest service job on a hourly wage their entire life...

They're ignorant to the difference between paper and practice.

I own an auto repair shop. I decided after being in this field for 20 years I wasn't going to be happy trying to retire from it the way most people do. For one thing it can be physically difficult, and I know a lot of guys who turned wrenches in to their 50s and 60s until they physically couldn't do it any more. I'm not planning one being crippled when I retire. It's been almost 7 years since we opened and I'm looking to sell it and retire in a little over 10 years, ideally to employees. $50K a year is very realistic for a good tech here, and the cost of living is lower than most places nationally. The job I left to go on my own paid $23 a book hour and I was capable of an average per week in the mid 50's. The average household income here is about $43K last I checked. Even better is making that and then purchasing that established business. I see it fairly often in trade type businesses.

You whited-out everything I posted so why the **** should I take your question seriously?

    I don't play those games...

    You progressives do.

I don't debate with people who feel the need to ignore aspects and highlight others to ATTEMPT to make a point.

you admitted the smart option was NOT to accept part time employment, in order to maximize income
so, why are you whining because people choose the smart option

And you know that how? Just because you hate your job is no reason to assume all Americans are like you, jealous of those that can't find a decent job.
