Logic isn't hatred. There are white trash losers in virtually every profession. What do you do?

If it turns out to be true that the man was stopped for bumperstickers - that would seem a violation of his rights - without any probable cause or evidence of any traffic or driving infraction - and not hold up in court.

Now swat seems to think this is Afghanistan....they forget about that whole constitution thing.
The no-knocks (which recently got two cops killed in TX, and 6 killed in NH), the dog executions, the 'whoops wrong house' that seems to be happening more and more. I'm sorry, but if someone kicks in my door without announcing themselves...to me....I assume home invasion, and I grab my AR and plate carrier sitting on top of it. How it goes from there...well that's not in my hands anymore, but I shoot competitively (3-gun) and it will hell for anyone that is invading my home, I am no push-over joe bob rocking a mossberg 500. The biggest threat we face right now as a country is the depletion of the 4th, 10th, and 2nd amendments. This new mentality indoctrinated in the academy that this is a warzone is a serious issue. They behave like everyone is a potential enemy combatant, not a citizen with rights.

Basically, militarization of the police is a HUGE issue.
Now you're just making crap up. "all cops now look like SWAT"???? Sorry Charlie, most cops look like cops, no SWAT gear. SWAT is a very select few out of an entire police force. Hell's bells out here most deputies and sheriffs dress in civilian clothes, badge clipped to the breast pocket or civilian leather belt. City cops dress in a traditional uniform, the special gang/drug guys wear cargo pants and either shirts or jackets with GANG UNIT etc on it, but certainly not SWAT 'battle gear'.

I wish you well with your fantasy on home defense. Unless you compete from a sound sleep to battle rattle I'd say you are clueless. Unless you train by having the spousal equiv blast a whistle at OH-Dark-30 and time you gearing up and ready to rock, you are clueless. You have a plate carrier? SERIOUSLY???

If so I'd say you are the one with the warzone mentality, not the police. If the police REALLY thought this was Afghanistan and everyone was a potential enemy combatant then the No Knock would be done with a Hellfire missile, and anyone getting within 50 meters of a police cruiser would be shot.

Oh an FYI, SWAT trains two to the chest and one to the head, hope you have a face plate as well...

The articles all say he was stopped for speeding. I doubt the cop, or anyone else, could have read the bumpersticker BEFORE the car was stopped, you have to be right up on the car to read most stickers, if the speeder didn't notice the cop riding his ass, that's on him.

Now if the cop has claimed failure to stay in lane with no dash cam proof, or illegal lane change, ya MIGHT have something, but speeding is pretty cut and dried.

Good point - thank you for that. I missed the speeding part. That would be the legal reason he needed then.

According to the OH State Patrol, he was initially stopped for driving 85 in a 70 mph zone.

The trooper then observed the butt of the pistol tucked between his legs.

The arresting trooper asked initially if he had any guns in the vehicle, and he replied that he did not.
