Police union responds to controversial, viral toddler video

Police union responds to controversial, viral toddler video | Local News - KETV Home

Saw this on the news last night. So the police union here is getting blasted for posting the video on facebook, but what about the people who made the video? Why does the messenger get blamed and not the people actually doing it? They didn't play the audio on the local news but CNN did play some of the video but even there they are questioning the union for posting it:

CNN Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

The Omaha Police Officers Association posted a controversial video on their Facebook page showing a toddler cursing.

Now here is the video in question unedited. It's so sad, this poor kid having to be exposed to this and the "adults" laughing.

So does this go to far by the police posting it?
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.

This story drips with hypocrisy; CNN blaming the police union for reposting the thug uncle's family video as they do exactly the same thing. Dr. Hill is upset because those involved in this video happen to be black but generally ignores that the source of the video was a proud black family showing how they are raising this child to speak/act. The police union is simply pointing out that thug/gang culture ruins the chances for these kids to fit in and speak/behave civilly long before they ever reach school age.

Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” ― George Bernard Shaw, Man and Superman

This problem isn't only the black community but even lower income white communities as well. if i would talk how kids talk today my mom or dad would have beat me to a pulp.
The culture of violence that has invaded these types of communities both black and white is a majority of the cause.

The only chance these kids have is positive reinforcement from parents and family but when they are raised like that you might as well lock them up as unless they see what they are doing isn't right they are going to end up in jaill

Here's where part of the problem lies as I see it. Appropriate behavior is not taught at home. Everyone just talks trash or anyway they want with no thought to who hears it or learns it. This is the stuff that Bill Cosby is talking about.

Nor is respect, common sense, civility, knowing when to speak up and when to just shut up.

This can be applied to the kid's parents, the police union, or to CNN - pick one.

The drug war massively perpetuates thug/gang culture.

I don't really see this as the police's business, but it's not really aweful or something to get terribly upset over. They didn't do anything, it's not their fault. Didn't need to post it, but that's true for most everything on the internet.

10 kids, no father or don't have a clue who the father was or there are so many fathers it does not matter.

This kid has no chance in life with what he is learning but it is not because of where he lives or how much money hi family has or doesn't have. This kid has no chance simply because his parent(s) took those chances away with this.

What led his parents to raise him this way? What led their parents to raise them that way? It's a cycle, and it is caused and perpetuated by thug/gang culture that is largely caused by the drug war and poverty.
