Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

If he gots more documents and info i believe the public would love to see it

He has disclosed several hundred thousand. He possesses 1.7 million!

Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

Rumors, especially from Russian Truth, are BS. Since when do you trust Fox News? Hahaha

When it becomes obvious that someone will use absolutely any source whatsoever, as long as it says what they want, the debate is clearly over.

NSA Email Collection Violated 4th Amendment: FISA Court
By Betty Wang on August 23, 2013 12:08 PM
According to formerly top-secret court opinions declassified this week, the National Security Agency has collected thousands of Americans' emails in violation of the Fourth Amendment.

The NSA on Wednesday released three secret U.S. court opinions that revealed how, over the course of three years, agents collected as many as 56,000 emails and other domestic communications between Americans who had no connection to terrorism, The Washington Post reports.

The Fourth Amendment guarantees that all U.S. citizens are free from unreasonable searches and seizures, absent a warrant issued with probable cause. How did the NSA violate that guarantee, according to the court?

10 years ago, anybody who supported what Snowden did would have been put through the meat grinder by the right wing. Funny how things change...

Well, I'm sure you realize why things have changed, Hatuey. It's because its a democrat in the white house. (And not only that, a black Democrat!).

Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

You dismiss out of hand the possibility that he did what he did out of genuine concern that Americans civil liberties are being violated. I happen to appreciate that because I appreciate a private conversation. Ed Snowden hasn't offended me at all. He also hasn't offended ex-presidents, SCOTUS judges, constitutional lawyers, law professors, and millions of average Americans across the country that are DEMANDING "genuine reform" to the intelligence agency with the largest budget and the least oversight of them all. And I will point out again, Senator Church warned that the NSA would become what Snowden's revelations show the agency to be without the proper oversight. I for one am not cool with this **** AT ALL!

And of course to show his outrage, he immediately fled to that bastion of truth and justice, Russia. Where he undoubtedly spilled his guts to Russian Intelligence. Great hero you picked for yourself.

Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

Stand by, Snowden's not finished.

Yeah, that's what Russian intelligence is counting on. Of course, I imagine he's given them everything of importance already.

Not to mention Al Quaeda, China, Russia, North Korea, and all of the other freedom loving nations you all worship.

Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

If only more things can bring people together

Well, anything that screws the U.S. Government is bound to unite the Far Right and the Far Left, since they both hate everything about the government.

Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

No, you have no evidence of that A and B, he and Glenn Greenwald made clear at the outset that the Gaurdians attorneys as well as attorneys from at least one outside source reviewed what would be disclosed to ensure that nothing that would jeopardize national security would be released. Additionally, it has been pointed out tirelessly that the disclosures only embarrass the NSA and by extension the federal government because they make plain for all to see that American citizens fourth amendment rights have been/are now being VIOLATED and abroad that Angela Merkel can't have an intimate conversation with her husband in private. Many of us appreciate these disclosures and will raise hell both to and with those who have the authority and means to press a "genuine reform" within the NSA.

More hyperbole. Everybody needs and appreciates the government for something. If it takes the far right and the far left coming together to FORCE the federal government to honor the constitution, then shame on the moderate and lukewarm middle of the road fence setters!

We worship China, Russia, the DPRK?
Any more claims you wanna make that are totally baseless?

Oh i know you were gonna single RT out of the various other sources i gave! Classic!
But hey since you dont trust any of those sources here are some more:
NSA broke rules on call-tracking program, court filings show - POLITICO.com
NSA Surveillance Broke Privacy Rules Thousands Of Times Per Year: Report
Report: NSA spying broke privacy rules thousands of times - U.S. News
NSA analysts deliberately broke rules to spy on Americans, agency reveals | World news | theguardian.com
NSA Has Broken Privacy Rules 'Thousands Of Times Each Year' : The Two-Way : NPR
Report: NSA spying broke privacy rules many times

Are these "rumors just RT" BS"?

When it becomes obvious that someone will use absolutely any source whatsoever, as long as it says what they want, the debate is clearly over.
Remember im using lots of sources all reporting the same exact thing.

The most respectable source above notes:

They range from significant violations of law to typographical errors that resulted in unintended interception of U.S. e-mails and telephone calls."...

An NSA official tells the Post that it tries to flag such problems "at the earliest possible moment, [and] implement mitigation measures wherever possible, and drive the numbers down. ... We're a human-run agency operating in a complex environment with a number of different regulatory regimes, so at times we find ourselves on the wrong side of the line."

Big deal? The important thing is the strict rule following and enforcement, not a few mistakes.

A few mistakes? Thousand upon thousands times a year! If the organization is too big and cant even follow its own rules and breaks it thousands upon thousands of times a year then its not working well.

Re: Rand Paul: Edward Snowden doesn’t deserve the death penalty

I just posted this in my thread, the enemy within, which both Rand Paul and Snowden are.

ironically, that opinion makes you the enemy

Let's be real. Perhaps 2700 in a year, much of it typos and other such errors. That's dealing with tens of thousands of man hours and tons of meta data. The mistakes that are made are noted and corrected as soon as possible. Given the enormity of the task, typos and even criminal activity will occur. The important thing is that the document cited (in every one of those sources?) illustrates strict rule adherence and enforcement.

You are using the rare mistake, even typos, to paint the entire organization as corrupt. That's no better than using typos, mistakes and even criminals to indict any group as a whole.

and here comes the partisan hacks.

10 years ago, both parties would of put him through the meat grinder.

fast forward, and large chunks of people in both parties still feel that way

obvious partisan shill is obvious

If you stand with Snowden and Paul, you stand with Russia and Putin and ASSad, the enemies.
Directly saying that my opinion makes me the enemy is getting personal with a poster, ARC.
You know better than that .
