At least 10 people have been killed in an explosion on a packed trolleybus in Russia's Volgograd city, according to Interfax news agency.The attack came on Monday, a day after a suicide bomb attack in the same city killed at least 17 people in a train station.
"A blast happened inside a trolleybus in Volgograd, according to preliminary reports, 10 people died, 10 were wounded," said Irina Gogoleva, spokeswoman of South Regional Centre of Russia's Interior Ministry.
The blasts have raised safety concerns in the region ahead of the Winter Olympics 2014 due in February in Sochi, west of Volgograd.

Another deadly blast in Russia. Seems something bigger is going on in Russia. Defiantly gonna raise some more security concerns. Thoughts and prayers are with the Russian people. :shock:
 
I suspect the muja is in on this, they have become quite proficient over the years. Then again, the Spetz have been kicking ass and taking names since the 80s in the same respect. Expect Grozny/Georgia/something in the caucuses to be flattened soon. Russia does not sit back quietly, mark my words, spetz will be crawling down their throats in short time.

I saw this in local news. It appears the woman who bombed herself and others to death was a "black widow." It is the widow's whose husbands and sons have been lost due to Russia's military activities (perhaps spetz included).

So by engaging more militarily Russia may be producing more Black Widows that may cause even more harm.

If only they targeted the Russian military or police targets instead this would have been a great anti-Russian/oppression news! Now though it is down to terrorism :(

There is not much you can do to prevent every terrorist attack. And with a presumably large number of terrorists in your own population it is particularly difficult. With the Olympic Games coming up, the danger of increased terrorist activity was expected. It is an excellent platform for the organizations to focus international minds on their causes. This is one of the reasons why Russia blocked attempts to stop Assad from crushing the uprising, knowing that they might need to use similar against their own.

We know very little about those "black widows." It is entirely plausible, rather than the narrative of sympathetic victims who have suffered losses, at least a share of these women are hardly innocent victims at all. Rather, they are hardened extremists who are part of a terrorist movement, but are only passive in their role as spouses while raising children, but still part of the terrorist movement nonetheless. That they eventually carry out attacks against civilians on their own at some point would not be too surprising in the context of their being radicalized ideologues who put their terrorist movement's goals ahead of the innocence of civilians and worries about inflicting harm on other mothers and spouses. If this is, in fact the case, Russia is not "producing" so-called black widows. Instead, these women are merely "sleepers" who are already radicalized and dangerous "time bombs."

Hopefully, Russia will be successful in apprehending those responsible and breaking their associated terrorist movement.

Exactly.

Now that it is down to terrorism alternative interpretations of self-production may also apply. Again if only they bombed the ones who left them widowed instead this could have had a way better outcome.

No one wants cowardly terrorism against innocent civilians no matter the cause.

But while Russia tries to "apprehend" the involved though the concern is that the Russians may use these terrorist developments as an excuse to go berserk on other innocent civilians also? Hence create more "black widows?"

Hopefully the future attacks would target the ones responsible instead.
 
Various Russian experts been expressing their great concerns about the rise of extreme Islamism in Southern and Central Russia - but alas no one listened to them.

This summer these concerns were only strengthened by apparent appearance of Dokku Umarov in a video on an Islamist site kavkazcenter.com, where he basically called for the renewal of attacks against civilian targets on Russian territory.

We are part of this global Jihad, which is a great honor that is granted to us by Allah.

I call (address) the Mujahidin of the Caucasus, you see us in the Caucasus, we are your brothers, we love you with all our heart, and we constantly pray to Allah for you and ourselves.

In my latest statements, I made peaceful statements, where we showed kindness and goodness but the Kafir in their barbaric actions in the Caucasus, showed that they don't understand kindness, but see it as weakness.
After these statements, where we said that we won't touch "peaceful" (meaning civilian) targets, the Kafir turned all their might against the peaceful civilian population of the Caucasus, and towards the peaceful places where the Mujahidin live.
