Susan Rice defends Benghazi interviews on 60 Minutes

Hey, if you put me in charge and let me kill and torture whomever I want without any judicial system or sense of justice at all, I could wipe out terrorism in the US.

I think it's funny that the same people who cry and moan about the TSA will support mass murdering dictators in the fight against terrorism. What a ****ing joke. Does anyone take that BS seriously? Yeah, we can't take our shoes off to board a plane but those Libyans, well... they should put up with a 40 year dictator. WTF
how about letting the Libyans decided there own fate. Do you know what constituted the NTC ( the pick up truck guys from Bengazi?).
a bunch of Salafists, and the leader was a former "renounced AQ guy.
So we basically facilitated a terrorist influenced group, into over-throwing Qaddafi whom was vehemently anti AQ.
Does that make ANY sense? No.

If we had stuck to the "no fly", If we had allowed that war to take it's own course, none of this woulfd have happened.

The NTC picked up no popular support on their advances - the US/NATO had to bomb a path for their advances. What kind of "populist revolution" is that? It isn't.
Not to mention the NATO bombing of Misrata..how does a humanitarian driven war encompass bombing a city??

It was a foolish endeavor, driven by Rice & Hillary Clinton, for there own twisted agenda, and Obama went right along.
Lookat Libya today -look at it under Qqaddafi, which is the best situation?

They asked for help. The UN agreed. The US took action only as a result of treaty obligations.

The US had nothing to do with it after leading the no-fly implementation. Do you think it was wrong to assist the UN in stopping a dictator from bombing his own people, at the request of the UN?

In the US, the NSA collects meta data and people freak out. The same people expect Libyans to live under a 40 year dictator who is attacking them with their own military.

Get some perspective.

O gawd. not the treaty obligations argument again. the NATO treaty only mandates US participation if another NATO state is attacked.
The US led the propaganda machine at the UN - it was Susan Rice's so called "Viagra rape" crap .
Qaddafi had a wide swath of popular support -not so much in east Africa, not as much outside the cities, but look at the Green Square demonstrations.
Qaddafi rode around in a car without bullet proofing. He renounced terrorism after Reagan damn near killed him in a bombin raid in the 80's.

The shelling of the NTC was a response by a duly recognized head of state to thwart an attemped revoltuion.
Gotta learn to let these civil war play out by themselves - then the truer realization of the country 's desires, come into play.

The US jumped the gun, and facilitated a terrorist state.

O gawd. not the treaty obligations argument again.

You do realize that this argument was made by Obama and accepted by congress, right? Please don't pretend that a random internet person is more well versed in the various treaties involved.

Lawmakers in both parties have grown frustrated with Obama for not consulting Congress on the U.S. role in the NATO-led bombing campaign in Libya, which began in March when Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi began threatening violence against potentially thousands of his citizens as they protested his regime. The White House has maintained all along that a massacre was averted because the U.S. took quick action and joined with NATO to stop Gaddafi's forces.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), one of Obama's most vocal critics on Libya, led a bipartisan group of lawmakers in filing a lawsuit against Obama earlier Wednesday over the constitutionality of launching military operations without congressional approval. He later issued a statement in response to the White House report

WRONG.

The Libyan people did not ask the US to invade and destroy their country no more than the Iraqis did.

Would you like to know what the Libyan people thought? Watch the video of the largest demonstration in history where Libyans protest AGAINST NATO destruction.

Would you like to know why they felt that way about Gaddafi?

Libyans got more from their government than you get from yours.

Would you care to know what Libya looks like today after Obama destroyed it?

I'm sure you don't care, but Libya is now destroyed. What Obama, Rice, and Clinton did to Libya was a crime against humanity.

.. AND, the icing on the corporatist/MIC cake .. Obama used AL QUEDA to destroy Libya.

After destroying Libya, Obama attempted to do the same thing to Syria using AL ****ING QUEDA .. but the world stopped his warmongering ass from doing it.

Get some real sources.

The lack of progress of the new administration is evident driving around Tripoli, where the streets are piled high with rubbish, and blackouts last up to eight hours a day. Public buildings remain cratered by Nato bombs, and new housing blocks and malls stand half-built. Alongside the graffiti that curses Gaddafi are slogans condemning the new government. And in the old souk, the growing lawlessness has given birth to stalls selling pistols, stun guns and CS gas.

Hassan al-Amin, who spent three decades as one of Gaddafi's most outspoken opponents in London
Upon his return in 2011, he was elected to the new parliament as head of its human rights committee. Now he is in exile again, having received death threats for criticising the militias and the isolation law.
such crap about a "new Libya". It is a fractured, warlord, milita ruled, lawless state, that can't even pump oil.
Bengazi had prison breaks, assassinatons, kidnapping.....I mean this place is it's own circle of hell

Who cares?

.. and there was more there than just RT .. but feel free to ignore all that as well.

It was RT, bloggers and a telegraph article (that surely cited the bloggers or RT). All garbage.

Garbage is easy to refute with counter evidence. Where's yours?

Maybe it's just me, but if you posted what I considered to be 'garbage' .. I would embarrass you for posting it with credible evidence of my own.

How about you reaching for sources that you trust and post your trusted evidence that what I posted was 'garbage.' I WELCOME you to do so. Then, I'll post counter evidence of my own.

That is how intellectual debate is supposed to work.

You're making a claim. I reject it on the grounds that you cite youtube, RT, bloggers and a telegraph article citing that garbage.

That's it.

:0) In other words, you're making **** up and you have absolutely no proof or evidence whatsoever to back up your claim.

Thanks for playing.

You know, one of the things the scandalmongers never like to talk about is how there really were worldwide protests against the video on that day.

Ok, you got me. Qaddafi was a nice guy, a benevolent dictator who put the people first. It would be great if, in Libya as in Syria, the regime was again bombing citizens with their own air force. Protests and demonstrations, and a few suicide bombs, bah! We need a full-on terrorist dictator gassin' em up. Enjoy your youtube, RT, blogosphere and whatever craprag will pick their garbage up.

Perhaps you are on the wrong thread.

Or not. People frequently use the "what difference does it make" comment, a snippet of a much larger statement from a larger inquiry, wildly out of context and hope people won't notice. Surely you weren't doing that?

The United States didn't invade Libya and the destruction was caused by local forces.
