Re: Woman fired for Aids Africa tweet.
Can you find a single poor black person on that channel? Again, this goes back to subculture. BET doesn't have a single show with poor black people at the forefront. I mean, they make money off catastrophes that affect the black community. They make money off music started in poor black community. However, are they representative of 40% of black community in their image? Nope. What do they portray? Well, they do what MTV does and sprinkle in some ghettoness (think Jersey Shore). If you honestly think they're making money off acting ghetto you got something else coming. What are their comedy/reality shows about? Middle class black families, middle class black professionals, upper class black people. Then, they give you an hour of 106'n'Park (is that show still on?) The last time they had a show that even came close to showing black people in any real representative % of social/economic/cultural state was when they had late night reruns of Oz in the early 2000s.
Never heard of BET have you?
