New Mexico Supreme Court rules Gay Marriage Constitutional

The chips continue to fall. Chalk another one up for the good guys!
New Mexico Supreme Court Rules Gay Marriage Constitutional

New Mexico's highest court has legalized same-sex marriage, declaring it is unconstitutional to deny a marriage license to gay and lesbian couples.

The state Supreme Court issued its ruling Thursday. New Mexico joins 16 states and the District of Columbia in allowing gay marriage.

Eight of the state's 33 counties have started issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples since August, when a county clerk in southern New Mexico independently decided to allow the unions.

One more state added to the list of places not to visit, and whose companies I will try not to do business with.

You aren't going to leave your doorstep pretty soon....so I suggest you either get used to it...or get used to being homebound.

It's not a matter of "if" anymore. It's only a matter of "when".

That's fine with me. If that's what I have to do in order to maintain at least a semblence of decency in my life, so be it. Guess this means I'm doing my homework this weekend by researching what businesses are based in New Mexico.

Now comes the state Constitutional amendment. That will be the real test. From the polls I have seen, the support for same sex marriage is only by a slim majority in that state and history tells us from things like the Prop 8 campaign that a slim majority can swing to the anti same sex marriage side if enough money is channeled into the state and turned into deceptive messages that create fear of the doom that same sex marriage will bring.

LOL...The USSC is very likely to rule on the issue in the near future which with make marriage equality the law of the land. What are you going to do then? Move to China?
