Six Soldiers Dead in Afghanistan After Helicopter Crash

Bush and Obama. What a dynamic duo. Makes you wonder if the same puppetmaster pulled their strings.

.

But Bush's Rules of Engagement (ROE) allowed our troops to kill the enemy before they killed them.

If I were in Vegas right now, I would put my money on that Obama's ROE were involved that allowed these six Americans to be killed.

Lets see, incase I missed any of my DOD e-mails notifying me every time one of our troops is killed in Afghanistan, that's eight Americans killed so far this week and it's only hump day.

Where are all of the lefty war protesters that disappeared during January of 2009 ?

Obama's fault--from Apacherat--right on cue..

Freaking sanctimonious hypocrites :peace

The sarcasm in this post is sickening..
As if you're cheering on even more deaths .

...and for what? To protect the CIAs cash crop of poppies? To give Blackwater another few billion?

Tragic.

Dude, I agree to some extent but some of these guys have absolutely nothing to do with that **** - these guys are cannon fodder to our government ...

A lot of these guys are my age and they don't have much of an opinion when it comes to war and politics - they did what they had to and they leave it as that.

Special ops are probably more aware of what they're doing but still in the dark...

Leftists don't hate war - they hate the impeding of communism/socialism.

I was draft age, and didn't go, got lucky, and a high lottery number for Vietnam.
Understood those whom serve have no choice on where they serve - I hope we learned from Vietnam not to blame the boots.

I don't see any animosity toward the volunteer army, the problem has always been the presidents/generals
who came up with the ideas for this twisted mess.

That is before my time, and that era intrigues me.....

The military wouldn't take me, I tried to join tho - I wanted to go, was offered a technical position and insisted on infantry.

It was my duty and wanted to go - I got a 98 on my ASVAB.....

What does this have to do with the topic? You know you repeat yourself endlessly. We know you hate Obama. We are discussing the loss of these 6 soldiers who died in a helicopter crash. Had nothing to do with ROE. My question was/is why are we there at all. Not what war protesters are doing in 2009. Do you have a useful answer please?

I said it earlier and I'll say it again. My comments have nothing to do with these 6 young men who died. My question is why the hell are we still in Afghanistan? I certainly don't blame the troops - this is some lame-brained government policy and I can't find any value in our Afghanistan investment EXCEPT 1) Enriching contractors and 2) Protecting the opium crop. Yes, it seems insane, like a conspiracy theory.

Now, why would a government so "anti-drug" that they lock up MILLIONS of Americans yet deal in the very same drugs. I assume its to fund off the books warfare and/or to enrich a very small clique. I'm wondering who is pulling these puppet-strings and who so casually exposes our finest to fiery deaths.

Anyways..Understand there are those here whom served, so I'd rather not get into it on this thread.
Glad you feel it was your patriotic duty.

The decisions to extend the war for a decade or more was not the will of the people. It was the will of the Owners and the MIC.

Bush's initial reaction in Afghanistan was correct and well handled. But the decision to start another war with Iraq and to turn Afghanistan into a bottomless pit was that of the Masters, not the rest of us.

Why are you bringing Iraq into this? Why don't you take a big **** right now on the future graves of these soldiers. Your post is a worthless piece of ****. These people just had a crash, WTF is wrong with you? I'll be expecting your lame excuse to follow.

The owners blah blah blah.....put some tin foil on your head.

Our government does a good job creating problems to address them..

"the war on drugs" while the CIA is selling dope or allowing it to be transported into the US...

It's insanity..

The government is really astounding...

Our government puts gangsters and drug dealers to shame.

The government tries to take the gangsters out of it by becoming the gangsters - now they're just focusing on the street gangs and dope.

Exactly. Thank you. I appreciate that you took the time to read my post and understand it.

I understand the era, just didn't live it...

The weird part is I agree with the opposition (SDS, WU etc) not for the same reasons - they weren't at all concerned about the FBI, I hope thats because they didn't have the same info.

I really can't speculate but I wonder what Ayers position would have been with Snowdens info or Wikileaks ...

there was concerns about the FBI.
The FBI infiltrated the peace movement. we were considered 'subversives", enemies of the state etc.

How much of it was Hoover's propensity for gathering info on everyone, and how much of it was led by Nixon, I don't know.

But Hoover had his fiefdom, and everyone feared Hoover, because we all have a little dirty deeds in our lives.

As to Ayers; The little I know of him.....your speculation is as good as mine ("what's his bag, man?", as said back then).
The WU was an insular group.

Recall the peace movement was far from monolythic. Bunch of hippie freaks

You ask what the hell it has to do with the topic and then say your comments have nothing to do with those 6 young men who died. It seems that the death of those 6 good men could relate to any number of things in history, as well as what goes on in the human psyche.

The sexual revolution was the best part and I'd like it known that I served on the front lines.

Do you even know what you are responding to? You took fragments of 2 completely different responses to 2 different people and mashed it up to - what? Call me out?

Please go back and read each post. Then, if you think I am wrong about something, please present your case. Right now, it's apparent you are confused so I don't know what I can say in response.

You don't see an inconsistency?

Yes, yes, sock puppets all.

But what about those who actually killed these men? Any responsibility there?

Are we back to on topic?

Killed the men in the helicopter?

We don't know yet if Obama's PC ROE was responsible for the death of these six soldiers.

What I find interesting, I still haven't received the DoD e-mail notification of these six soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan. Usually I receive them with in 24 hours after a soldier, Marine, sailor or airman is killed in Afghanistan.

I didn't say that Obama's PC ROE was responsible. I said I would be willing to wager a bet that it was.

So far this week, one soldier died in a hospital in Germany from injuries from a non-combat related accident in Afghanistan. And one Marine from the 1st Engineer Bat. was killed in combat in Afghanistan. Engineer, I'm going to assume an IED.

Thank you for responding and for your understanding that I'm just trying to make these discussions more interesting and less partisan so we can get "rewarded" for our time spent here.

May I ask why you get notified usually? Are you still military?
