Teacher to student: You can't be Santa -- you're black! [W:35]

Re: Teacher to student: You can't be Santa -- you're black!

Let him dress up as Kwanzaa Klaus.

I laughed. I looked out the window. Then, I laughed some more. I got one!

Kris "Klaus" Kringle.

I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on the subtlety of spelling Claus with a K.

So is the black Santa thing what we're going with this year? Are we taking a year off from The War On Christmas™?

Shades of Sherman Hemsley.

For those too juvy: Sherman played Archie Bunker's neighbor George Jefferson in All in the Family before spinning off into his own sitcom, The Jeffersons.

One Xmas, in the early seventies, in an All in the Family episode, George Jefferson dressed up like Santa Claus. When he visited Archie's house to pick up Lionel, Archie saw him and told him that he couldn't dress up like Santy Claus because Santy Claus was, as everyone knows, white.

The ensuing dialog between the the two actors is some of the best comedy writing that I have ever witnessed.

This topic ain't new.

What a stupid thing for a teacher to do. It's a freaking costume! That remark is about as rational as saying you can't dress like santa unless you actually are santa. Absolutely moronic.
