Texas teen Ethan Couch gets 10 years' probation for driving drunk, killing 4

Texas teen Ethan Couch gets 10 years' probation for deadly DWI crash - CNN.com

To families of the victims, Ethan Couch was a killer on the road, a drunken teenage driver who caused a crash that left four people dead.To the defense, the youth is himself a victim -- of "affuenza," according to one psychologist -- the product of wealthy, privileged parents who never set limits for the boy.
To a judge, who sentenced Couch to 10 years' probation but no jail time, he's a defendant in need of treatment.

WHAT?????? Holy hell....I'll fully agree that the kid needs treatment, but damn.....

All four were killed when the teen's pickup plowed into the pedestrians. Couch's vehicle also struck a parked car, which then slid into another vehicle driving in the opposite direction. Two people riding in the bed of the teen's pickup were tossed in the crash and severely injured.
One is no longer able to move or talk because of a brain injury, while the other suffered internal injuries and broken bones.
I thought Texas was a "hang 'em high" kinda place?

Jail sure isn't going to change anything for anyone in this scenario, but christ on a cracker......

    He even STOLE the beer......

And some people wonder why there's anger and frustration towards the rich and privileged.

Its **** like this why I support mandatory minimums. Had there have been a mandatory minimum for this crime then it wouldn't have mattered if he was rich or poor.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

And historically the courts in the USA have always favored the rich and famous.

So if you want to get a fair judgement in a court in the USA, don't forget to be rich and/or famous!

When I first read this, I honestly thought it was a story from The Onion.

Just an appalling mockery of justice.

Taking bets now on who the first person is to blame "liberalism" for this senseless, inexcusable act, or the shameful ruling that followed.

That's the effect I was going for.

Rich = probation, treatment and fines
    Non-rich = incarceration or death

Giving him everything and not setting limits.....hmmmmmm. You must have thought of it first. I guess his parents didn't want to hurt his self-esteem.
