Senate Aide (R) Suspected of Distributing...

I am not comparing the different nature of the moral lapses here, as was also assumed by another poster, I am pointing out the difference between an immoral act done by another "connected" person (Alexander Lamar did nothing at all - his employee did but not even at work or in front of the boss) and two immoral acts done by the actual person in question (Bill Clinton did commit adultery and lied about it).
Since I've not mentioned Alexander, but his employee, don't see what he has to do with any of it, never have claimed he did. Are suggesting someone working for him ISN'T a Republican? I kind of doubt that? At no point have I pointed a finger at any individual save the alleged perp.

Oh come on, don't ruin my schadenfreude. You know they went after Weiner like wolves, and definitely tried to paint the whole party all the way back to Clinton, probably even Kennedy. It's ridiculous for us to try to be PC with folks such as they, imo.

Yeah they need to be attacked with more of the own tactics, but this isn't the issue to do it with. Too obvious and it'll backfire. Wait until the next election for that kind of stuff. :2razz:

That might be more convincing if you hadn't just pointed gleefully at how you're just getting us back for Anthony Weiner. ;)

It's not Anthony Weiner, it's the behavior displayed over AW and displayed here now. Instead of coming on here and saying, "this guy is disgusting, he should be ...." You come in here and say, "but but Bill Clinton...". Y'know the one's who are rationally saying that it's horrible and probably shouldn't be held against the Repubs as a whole are mostly Dems and Libs. How bizarre is that?

I don't find that bizarre at all. I know many reasonable and fair minded liberals. What should tell you something is that they're saying those things to you.

Then you somehow feel that the individual's party affiliation is a relevant factor? Let me take that nonsense "guilt by association" argument to a whole new level and say that blacks are less moral because more blacks are in jail as a percentage of the US population.

And again you don't grasp my point. Go on with your typical responses. It only continues to prove my point.

This is true. I do not deny the wickedness of my current thoughts. Fortunately they won't last past a few hours. Then I'll come to my senses.

You know, you have entered the finger pointing zone. Soon someone is going to google for every democrat caught in some type of sexual embarassment and print that long list. Then someone will google for every republican caught in some type of sexual embarassment and print that long list.
It is not even worth it to get into that worn out debate.
Am pretty certain that Alexander didn't know this pervert was his Chief of Staff. But even being totally innocent just having this guy mentioned to be your top guy hurts you.

*derisive snort*

So you intentionally started a bait thread? That is not only stupid but against forum rules. Your post #8 was the clincher for me, then stating that you thought "Dems and Libs" were the brightest since they did not try to defend the guilty - or some such nonsense in post #29.

I wonder what a depiction of Sarah Palin preaching about morals would look like with her daughter and grandchild in the picture.

If the topic is abortion, she and her family would hold up just fine (as far as practicing what they preach).

The OP was a simple presentation of a current news story. My opinions are entirely my own.

Regardless of party, that is a pretty messed up thing to do. If convicted jail will not be kind to him.
Nothing is "regardless of party" on this website. Heck, the very first thread about Paul Walker's death was turned into a partisan battleground on it's first page.

Your opinions are obvious and simply praise demolibs and bash republicons using whatever twisted BS pops into your head. Cheering the arrest of an R staffer while defending all manner of repulsive behavior of D officials is apparently cute in your sick, twisted way of thinking.

I have hope that one day there will be one thread that is regardless of party. I cannot think of an issue right now off the top of my head that will do that, but I believe!

Really? Let's test the veracity of this claim, shall we?

starting with the OP;

Senate aide suspected of distributing child pornography - latimes.com

Oh my those family values Republicans are at it again. */sarcasm

Hmmmm, those Republicans are at it again, are they?

I agree that both parties have the screw ups and their oddball sexual behavior, but this is on an entirely different level than adult sexual shenanigans, even adult shenanigans with diapers, or tweets of one's penis to ... an adult, or even compared to corruption. *And which party is the first (as far as I know, and hopefully only one ever...) to be connected to pedophilia on an apparently pretty big scale??? The "family values" party aide.

Now they're connected to pedophilia on a big scale.

I in no way 'blamed' Republicans... just noticed that it was a Republican, and as yet the most heinous of sexual misconduct to date is with the party that tries to claim it's all family values crap. Noticing facts is not blaming. Calling it blaming serves what purpose to your cause here? Are you trying to defend this or deny the accuracy of anything I've typed?

Weird, no mention at all in this post of the "individual" but the "heinous sexual misconduct " is "with the party".

How about multiple men? David "diaper" Vitters, Larry " foot tap" Craig. Etc etc

It is the same pointless circle. Now someone can post about 1000 Democrat officials who did all sorts of sicko stuff.

This is always one of the most bizarre claims Democrats on the forum make. There are countless instances of both Democrats and Republicans in office doing also sorts of corrupt and sicko stuff - for which Democrats claim that it more hypocritical for Republicans since Republicans are for "family values."

Your point, then is that theft, corruption, lying, pedophilia are not contrary to Democratic values? Is that your point? If this was the aid to a Democrat that conduct would be within the Democratic Party values? That appear to be what you are claiming.

Actually, the tone of this thread was set by the OP. Had this been been presented some way other than as a way to bash Republicans, I'm sure there could have been more unity in bashing exactly who deserves to be bashed. The pedo douche bag.

In all fairness I cannot see how this reflects badly on Lamar Alexander or the GOP. How would he have known this guy was a pedophile and its not like these sick individuals are just in one political party.

I'll have to quote this when someone brings up a Democrat's misgivings.

People are not parties. This thread is hackery and should be treated as such.

Mark Foley was a pederast; he is not representative of the Republican Party. Neither is Anthony Weiner and his dick picks for the Democrats.

If Republicans would stop being so damn preachy then there wouldn't be so much indignation.

What about underage sex and pregnancy out of wedlock?

I don't have a problem with this myself as its a common problem with teenagers. But this is a prime example of how Republican morals aren't always realistic (**** happens). Certainly you can aspire to try and raise your family to be the best they can be and subscribe to your ideals but when it doesn't work out there's no sense in raking people over hot coals because we all make mistakes. And this is my beef with conservatives, being too gung-ho about punishment as though its going to change human behavior. All it does is add to the suffering imo.

Ding ding ding.

Many conservatives tried to paint left-wing skewering of Mark Foley or Ted Haggard or Larry Craig as being "anti-gay." Which is ridiculous. The issue is when people preach or legislate being anti-gay with one hand while jacking off a dude with the other. It's hypocrisy.

To be fair, there's only one conservative on this forum who can own that one. I can't pin that on any significant amount of righties here.
