Boehner’s outburst had been a long time coming. Since he accepted the speaker’s gavel, the Ohio lawmaker has served at the will of an unrelenting conference that made his life hell by refusing nearly all attempts at compromise. For two years, the conference humiliated Boehner by forcing him to pull key, sure-to-pass bills from the floor. In October, they dragged him and his deputies into a government shutdown fight they never wanted in the first place. And now Boehner is saying, "enough is enough, we’ll fight another day."

Taking the party back from extremists? Priceless. Now that Boehner finally appears to be growing a pair, maybe we will now see Congress actually get some work done.

The House will vote on this new resolution, crafted by Republican Paul Ryan and Democrat Patty Murray, by the end of the week. If this bill goes down, then we are looking at another costly government shutdown. The last one cost 24 billion. I predict that it will pass, as establishment Republicans are beginning to give the middle finger to Tea Party extremists.

Yes, they got a lot done. Reduced military retirement, didn't make a dent in the deficit, etc, etc. This is the crap that keeps leading us further down the death spiral. Yet people such as yourself cheer it on. It's sad really.

The same people who were angry about this deal before they heard a word about it are exactly the same people who torpedoed our negotiating position with their hysterical antics over the debt ceiling.
