Pope Francis is Time's Person of the Year......

He referenced an economic model. That
doesn't mean your representation of his opinion is accurate.

What does he know ? He's obvioulsy ignorant. Probably thinks that European Austerity is the fault of Capitalism, but again he would be wrong.

You see, he's JUST A MAN, who's entitled to his own opinions, no matter how wrong they are.

That hat doesn't instill instant God given knowledge of all things.

That cartoon is a little dated, that portion of the pie for the American Middle Class has shrunk quite a bit under a Liberal President.

Maybe the President's not as "liberal" as you continuously screech that he is, then.

No, I'm actually the one being honest here, or are you going to pretend that the Pope's statements were NOT a direct reference to a economic model used all over the world ?

The Pope's not a economist and should probably keep his mouth shut or then take the risk of sounding ignorant and foolish.

Your use of the generic is arguably one of the most dishonest tactics I've seen used in this thread.

You are the one being EXTREMELY dishonest. The pope never advocated any of the things you're claiming he did. Because you're a liar, and that's what liars do. They lie.

You feel better after your hissy fit little boy ??

Because what he advocated has resonated with the idiots of this world.

The "lack of oppurtunity " that our free markets are to blame for, and the disparate distinction in wealth from rich to poor sounded like it was right out of " Dreams of my Father".

When it comes down to it, the lefts position on wealth disparity has always included a mandated redistrubition in a vacuum by a Large Central Government based on that Governments arbitrary definitions of who was deserving and who was " rich".

And his attack on a economic model thats responsible for pulling more people out of abject poverty than any other economic model is indicative of a Pope who's been poisoned by a bunch of socialist rhetoric.

He is just a man BTW.

I guess if I was a Cotholic I might be a bit embarrassed, but I'm not so there.

Did you actually read what the pope said? He was specifically attacking "trickle-down economics."

He pushed for Health Care reform when he should have focused on the fact that we just had a massive and systemic Sub-Prime Collapse.

A health care law that would mandate higher cost for struggling Middle Class Americans in the form of higher premiums.

A health care law that let all bussiness owners know 2 years in advanace that their cost were going to go up, but didn't allow them to quantify that cost, which caused them to stop hiring.

Stop investing. A health Care law that was passed on a pack of lies from HIS OWN FACE.... .

Of course he's a Liberal.

Those above are "liberal" policies? You must have a different definition of "liberal" than the rest of us.

Oh, I forgot. Your definition of "liberal" is "stuff Fenton doesn't like."

Who cares what American Time thinks? While Time in every other country was covering the Egyptian revolution on their front cover, American Time was talking about some other meaningless crap. Their person of the year matters just about as much as who gets the Nobel Peace Prize at this point.

What is with these organizations and their penchant for choosing figureheads whose total time in office is so short as to be unremarkable?

We Conservatives DID try to warn you people.

But Noooooo....you elected a Jr Senator with a paper thin resume, who after the Sub-Prime Collpase chose to focus on passing a healthcare law that targeted the middle class.

Honestly, ObamaCare doesn't effect the poor or the rich.....so who pays for it ??

The middle class NOW has to contend with mandated higher cost on premiums for sub-standard policies.

Yes, we DID try to warn you and now that slice is going to get even smaller.
I elected a junior senator?

Not me, I didn't elect a junior senator who was still wet behind the ears, not me.

No, it's totally the fault of the Republican Party that they couldn't even mount a campaign that could defeat said junior senator. They did pick an electable candidate in '08, and even picked the only electable candidate running in '12, but still didn't have the political savvy to get them elected. What a pathetic bunch of losers!

It's funny how certain posters can make ANYTHING -- even a discussion about the Pope -- into some stinging rebuke of Obama. They got their marching orders down pat. "Make everything about Obama. Jump through whatever rhetorical or logical hoop you have to. Wash, rinse, repeat."

You are correct that the middle class pie is too large in the cartoon. However, you are wrong as to the advent of this problem. Wealth has been increasingly concentrated amongst the most wealthy since the early '80s. I likely has something to do with cutting the highest marginal rate to under 50%, creating incentives for business owners and executives to take current compensation at the expense of re-investing in their businesses (including hiring employees)

He knows what Jesus promoted. If this conflicts with your economic views, I suggest you incorporate this into your worldview and move on.

Not even Hillary Clinton could mount a campaign to beat said Jr Senator.

The rest is history, as Obqma and his complicit ilk lied. cheated and obfuscated to win the 2012 election.

Or do you seriously think he would have been re-elected if people knew the truth about " keeping their doctors" ?

The average middle class American family is the loser.

According to many on the right, it is impossible for someone to hold Marxist views and still be a good person.

Frankly, as long as they aren't trying to rob me, or try and get a coercive force to do so, for their benefit, I don't give a **** what their views are.

I don't know if he would have been reelected or not. Never underestimate the ability of the Republicans to shoot themselves in the foot during the election campaign.

Will they be able to mount a successful campaign in '14 and in '16? Maybe so, maybe not. They will have to do better than they did in the last couple of elections.

What would you call Cuba then?

I'd call them a socialist dictatorship, that is slowly liberalizing its economy. Here's where we get into what you should have realized a long time ago, not everyone has the same subjective opinions on what is and is not capitalism, communism, socialism, etc, etc. So while you would call Cuba communist and I wouldn't, the Pope may call the US and other countries "unfettered capitalist" while you wouldn't.

I would have chosen Edward Snowden.

But as Popes go, this guy seems pretty cool.
