Whatever happened to leave no man behind? When Castro makes a gesture by releasing him and other political prisoners then and only then should we reciprocate.

And I'm sure the right was outraged when Bush did the same by holding hands with a dictator......oh wait, they weren't outraged.

Oh I forgot, when a GOP president goes prancing on the lawn with a dictator holding hands, that's presidential. However, when a Dem does something like that, it's an outrage. Sounds more like ODS to me.

That's fine, Personally if we start normal relations with Cuba I am fine with it, if we continue on with what we have been doing since around 1960, I am fine with it. Either way I won't be upset. But one thing I do know, if after 60 plus years we have seen no improvement at all with the Castro regime, that perhaps it is time to try something else. What that is I don't know, but 60 years of sanctions have accomplished nothing outside of making some people feel good here in the states. They have not helped the Cuban people one bit.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

The embargo is a glaring testament to the abject failure of US policy towards Cuba.

Cuban successes in spite of the embargo is a testament to the strength and character of the Cuban people.

Now you even have to plagiarize a term used by cons to mock those who hated Bush. At least try to be original and think of something yourself.

Do you also disagree with the embargo on Iran?

The embargo itself is a different subject and I am not sold on its efficiency. I don't think full normalization with Cuba is the answer though especially since the Castro regime is not willing to give an inch.
