I will agree that Obama mis handled Syria from the beginning but for far different reasons than you apparently. The uprising in Syria was vastly different than that of the other ME countries and it wasn't really part of the Arab Spring. President Assad has been fighting his own 'war on terror' with various terrorist organizations operating within his borders. Had the US and other western powers stayed out of it from the beginning, president Assad would have crushed the insurgency early on, there wouldn't be 100,000+ dead civilians and things would be once again normal in Syria. But the neocon agenda for 'regime change' in Syria has been a long time ambition.

Putin for his part was right on Syria from the beginning, the US was wrong and the world saw that this summer. Unfortunately, US and western involvement and support for the same terrorists that we fought for the last decade and more were helped to gain too much of a foothold and has therefore turned what could have been a quick victory for Assad into a lengthy war that as is usually the case when the US gets involved, has been hardest on the civilian population.
Putin isn't "right" on syria, Syria is a client state and it will remain so thanks to obama's lackluster political prowess.
A thug Russian gets to continue selling equipment, meds, and tech to Islamists and dictators.

Its a shame you draw a line at defending totalitarian regimes.
Cuba trades with Russia. Why isn't Russia selling cars to Cuba?

It is because the Cuban leaders want the population to be doing exactly what they are doing.

Cuban people have no money for a new car anyway.

Exactly, so what would be the point of trading with Cuba?

The people have no money to buy anything which is the way Castro wants it.

Until they are gone and the new leaders change things drastically, it would be a wasted exercise, and it would close the door to Cubans that make it off the island. They would all be sent back dry feet or not.

Yeah.....I figure it would be only a matter of time with the holidays coming up. Usually quite a bit jumps off then. I was making it simple with some of them.....Like Discussion Egypt. Or Syria etc etc. Just to get things going or being able to jump in at anytime. Especially with all current news.

Everything the US had done -even the "wet foot" policy of immigration is peculiar, and un-needed with Cuba.
They are a sovereign country, we have no right to tell them how to run their govt.

    Besides all this it's counterproductive.
That's just it, Cubans don't run their government, there government runs them.

The US does the exact same thing! Such hypocrisy.
