Twelve years in the House and term-limited after next year's reelection .
Regardless, I like Martinez. I think Christie would deliver NJ, perhaps Conn and have a good shot at Penn and Martinez would deliver NM and perhaps Colorado. As a numbers man, I am just looking at the numbers, like in electoral votes.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

And Pence would secure Ohio and give Christie a great shot at North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, and Wisconsin..
Illinois and Iowa are certainly within Christie's reach..As you know, I think it will be a blow-out..
I look forward to Christie spanking Cantor and clipping his wings .

I don't see Christie making it through a primary. He's just too liberal. And someone with his views on gun control, I wouldn't vote for him in a hundred years. And you'll find a lot of Republicans are like that.

Perotista and I get off the rails sometimes with our politician talk..It's usually my fault..
I'll get a thread going someday on Christie..The Green Papers show how difficult it will be for anyone but Christie to win..

It's the same here. For the most part, our two major political parties are generally bitching and whining at each other and go out of their way to be stubborn, unreasonable and difficult, rarely conceding an inch. It was refreshing yesterday to see them all come together as one to declare their memories, admiration, respect and heartfelt support for Nelson Mandela.

Madiba spent years believing and teaching a divided nation that they can come together. He was a unifier in life and he clearly still is in death.

We'll see linc, right now I am concentrating on 2014. Now how about Clinton, if she is the Democratic nominee who should be her VP? I originally thought about Warner of VA, but I don't think they would go the senate route as of today, I see either a 51-49 Dem or a 50-50 split after next years senate races. The Democrats probably won't want to go that route. So we would be looking at governors. Hickenlooper comes to mind and would keep Colorado dem even if Christie was the GOP nominee. But that is where I fall short as the rest of the Democratic Governors are from solid Democratic states and wouldn't really enhance the ticket. Then a wild hair came up, maybe Evan Bayh of Indiana. He is still popular there and would give the dems a good chance at Indiana. Or perhaps if Charlie Crist wins in Florida? Any ideas?

Yep, now if they could work together. Just get along.

It would be nice to see Mandela's death as a teachable moment..
Apparently, there are some grievances from the right wing that need to receive a fair discussion..
As you said, not right now..
President Lincoln has had worse things said about him than Nelson Mandela on this forum..

Hickenlooper and Udall still have short leads in Colorado but both are slipping in popularity..
Frankly, I can't imagine any Democrat worth his/her salt wanting to play third fiddle to both Clintons..
As for President, I have a hunch on Gov. O'Malley from Maryland..
I'm at a loss for VP, which is why I think it is a done deal for CC..
