Seems to me that religious texts should not be categorized as fiction or nonfiction, but as personal belief.

My family in California is shocked at this move, and they don't even regularly attend church, because they feel Costco's stupidity in this matter is going to unnecessarily anger and offend many people, whether or not they believe in the Bible. I think this will soon be resolved judging from their comments. :

Well, a man speaking to a talking snake in a garden containing a tree which has fruit that destroys immortality does seem to be a stretch for "science". LOL.

There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

It's not supposed to be "science" but neither is it fiction. The Bible is the word of God, it's truth not textbook.

Putting it in "fiction" is not appropriate and is offensive, nearly all bookstores have a "religion/spirituality" section and that's where it should be put.

Wow, the pastor was so upset that he...tweeted a photo of it instead of contacting CostCo? The reporter contacts CostCo and a customer service representative doesn't want to talk to him? Well no **** sherlock, contact their media relations people if you're writing a story.

A minimum wage CostCo employee probably did it as a joke and nobody noticed it. The pastor and the reporter handled this in a way that clearly shows they're more interested in spreading outrage instead of getting to the bottom of it.

Prove that Jesus actually lived? Seriously? Can you possibly be more obtuse?

A man by that name probably did exist. That doesn't make everything someone writes about him true.
He touched her over her bra and underpants, she says, and guided her hand to touch him over his underwear
