That's kind of like saying people should respect each other's property and not steal from one another. Well no ****, sherlock.

It goes without saying, though, that some people are going to do it anyway. Which is why the productive discussion to be having is what to do about it.

Don't waste anymore of my time bloviating about how your generation believes in liberty, etc etc etc and other nonsense. Suggest a solution or accept the inevitable. Anything else, and my generation has a word for it: it's called "whining."
I provided you with a suggestion - people mind their own business and not interfere with the lives of others. I appreciate that may seem to be quite burdensome to the generation that thinks every fart that eminates from you is youtube gold and must be shared with the universe, but that doesn't mean it isn't a reasonable solution. You want your toys, fine, have at it, but don't bring them into my "space" and expect me to simply accept it.

And to be clear, the only ones "whining" in this discussion are the entitlement class, yes that's you, who think others have to accept the techno whims of ignorant jackasses.

So again - to be perfectly clear - if you want your toys, go for it - if you want to have your toys and participate in social environments where you don't own the property, find a place that welcomes your nonsense and don't expect every place to accept you. And since there's no easy way to tell if a person using Google Glass is filming, streaming video to the internet, or just looking up a good wine to drink with pork, it means everyone with a Google Glass gets lumped in with the jackasses who think it's cool to upload videos to the internet of unsuspecting people just out enjoying a meal. Your problem is not with me, it's with the jerks who abuse the toys and social media and spoil it for those who wish to use it in reasonable ways.

And if you don't want to have me "bloviate", don't respond to my posts with nonsense.

That is true but if the resturant owner used that video to mock me or in any way invade my privacy publically I would own a resturant.

I think the glasses should be banned from public places, and I think they will be when the first case of invasión of privacy comes into play, like from a bathroom.

I am kind of surprised how little thought you have put into this.

    A friendly thought to all:

A few lifetimes past, I was once remunerated for my expressive writing abilities. Believing the best statement is normally the shortest and most succinct, I set about composing a 30 minute oration to be made at a political function.

Upon receiving said script the orator carefully perused the composition; afterward, beaming a cheshire cat grin he began pontificating appreciation for my skills in usage of a plethora of "one hundred dollar words". He expounded on and on and finally ended with "I am extremely impressed".

Graciously accepting his kudos, I began to take leave and he abruptly stopped me with "Oh, I do have a question, though". I turned to look at him as he continued to ask
"How many people will understand what has been said here?" With me facing him while no doubt appearing surprised, he continued "I am impressed but quit writing to impress, always write to be understood! Bring me another speech."

Enough said, I've carried that philosophy throughout my life and it has served me well. It would seem beneficial if we all followed that rather sage admonition.

    Have a terrific day Grim

I said in my first post that the restaurant owners were right to ask the patrons to remove the google glass.

But you are also saying it is OK for him to use it and film whatever he wants because what harm could it do.

If you live in the real world for a while, you will see that you can be implicated in something just for being there and for something you said.

Do you really want somebody having a video or audio record of everything you say in a restaurant?

What if you were having a fight with your girlfriend? If the guy uploads that onto the internet thinking it is funny, how can you ever get over it? Your girlfriend will get mad again every time she sees it or one of her friends say they saw it on the internet. Your life would be hell for a long time, because the guy was wearing the glasses and he used your images.

Would you be OK with that?
