In my State it is a misdemeanor punishable up to only 90 days.

No, it is just a misdemeanor 90 days in jail. Hopefully it will become aten year penalty.

Who is primarily responsible? Are there more Whites than Blacks doing this or is it proportionately about equal? After checking out Youtube I've seen more Blacks doing this than Whites. Is there bias here?

Wouldn't walking up to somebody and punching them, knocking them to the ground unconscious be considered aggravated assault and battery? That is always a felony with prison time.

I can't imagine a prosecutor calling this simple assault. That is reserved for two stupid drunks spitting in each others face and one pops the other in the mouth, not for potentially killing someone with a hard sucker punch over concrete.

If you're "checking out Youtube" for evidence of other than internet preteens calling each other gay, you're doing it wrong.

IMO if someone is intentionally knocked unconscious it should be a felony because death or permanent brain damage are likely results.

The "knockout " game is just more evidence that we're suffering the consequences of a lack in societal moral standards.

They've been justified down as we try and appeal to the lowest common denominator and fringe elements.

Does anyone actually believe that a healthy society is possible without a strong set of Central moral standards ? Standards that exceed our lawful definitions ?

I'm willing to concede that, which is why I raised the question. Is there any evidence that White are doing more than Blacks, Blacks more than Whites, or Hispanics more than anyone? Is it touchy to even ask the question?

Few morals in a country going broke, and the people still expecting freebies, is a potentially dangerous situation.

From what I have been told in the local news is that the most severe penalty would be 90 days in jail. Keep in mind that each State has its own laws and we would have to have a new law covering this.

By that rationale, ANY act of supposedly random violence could be classified as a hate crime.

I don't particularly like hate crime laws, simply because it's virtually impossible to determine a true motive for a random act of violence, even under oath in open court.
