Militia group calls for Obama's assassination

Religion of peace.

Christian militia calls for Obama

The Christian American Patriots Militia is openly calling for the assassination of President Barack Obama on their Facebook page. The Christian militia calls Obama a “dictator,” and claims the “authority to kill Obama comes from the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution.”

What an oxymoron..."Christian militia". Throws the 4th Commandment completely out the window doesn't it? (Re: "Thou shalt not kill")

Personal Note: I don't care who you are, what political position you take, your ideological views or how you may feel about a sitting President, communicating a threat of death to the President of the United States or even inferring such is not acceptable to me. You don't get to exercise free speech by making death threats then hide behind the 2nd Amendment as your justification.

How tragic. Can't they get in trouble just for calling for his assassination?

None of the Libbos that called for Bush's assassination were arrested, so I reckon not, but they should get arrested just for making the threat. Like him, or not, Obama is The President and we can't stand for people threatening, or making an attempt on The President's life. ANY president.

It's actually illegal to threaten the President but it usually results in additional scrutiny not prosecution. The fact is...the way things are now and the security around the President the fact this group has the means to actually carry this through is pretty low...especially with the extra scrutiny they are probably receiving from Secret Service.

Most of the folks that have gotten close/killed a President didn't make it public ahead of time. I just don't think taking this guy to jail will solve anything.

As for the left making a fake site....you have to be a hardcore partisan to ignore that there are loonies on the right.

Of course, everyone on the left are such kind, gentle, civil individuals and would never do or say anything untoward. Martin Bashir had an epiphany and is now a "loonies on the right"? Do not perceive I am a Palin fan; however, he immediately came to mind after your accusatory generalization concerning the right.

Hmm, it seemed to be a-okay, when Bush was President. Didn't they even have a play or something going in which Bush was assassinated near the republican convention?

It was never a-okay. You're making things up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Hollywood Left make a movie about assassinating a sitting President during the G.W. Bush administration ?

Producing a movie and issuing an actual threat are entirely different, though your point is well made.

What's different today compared to fifty years ago ?

Fifty years ago you didn't have Columbine shootings but access to firearms was a whole lot easier. No background checks, waiting periods, even a sixteen year old could purchase a box of ammunition. There were more homes with guns in the home. There were no video games and instead after school the activity was football, base ball, playing army and cowboys and Indians. You could actually get hurt playing. You can't get hurt playing the video game "Grand Theft Auto."

When I was in grade school they had "show and tell," and it was common for a class mate to bring his father's war souvenirs from WW ll to show, the German P-08 Luger being the most popular. No body raised an eye brow and Miss Crabapple would say "Show and tell is over. Now Johnny put that pistol in your desk and don't forget to take it home after school or your father will likely give you a spanking."

About twenty five years ago the Marine Corps discovered that new recruits were showing up and have never been in a fist fight in their lives. That todays generation don't know how to fisticuffs. That the Corps had to bring out the boxing gloves to teach maggots how to fisticuff. They know how to cold **** someone on a video game or blow up the jolly green giant but if there's a real fight over a girl they don't use their fist but resort to a gun or knife.

What does this have to do with video games? Games changed society so that we don't fight except through games?

Plenty of people were arrested for making death threats to Bush.

There are limits on free speech. I consider myself ultra libertarian on speech and still I don't agree with this, but I wouldn't put it past an obamite lover to create an ultra conservative looking militia like web site and making such an outrageous comment on it. Poor ofailure has had a really bad month and they need to drum up the race card for olooser pretty bad.

That's a neat little theory with zero evidence to back it up. 0/10, see me after class.

I'm sure all presidents have had a bunch of that.....

Problem is progressives just expose the slightest threat....

Funny part is that the media and progressives in general were sympathetic to those who wanted to assassinate George Bush. Hell those ****ing psychopaths even made a movie about George Bush being assassinated called "death of a president."

Now progressives need to shut the **** up over their hypocritical outrage....

Oh yeah progressive groups also burned Bush in effigy to boot - and the United States flag as well..

Those who sport Guy Fawkes masks and ski masks while destroying cities belong in ****ing prison - not for their threats but for the ****ing destruction they left in the wake of their protests.

More bull**** and no link....Your creditability is zero...No wonder everyone puts you on their ignore list.

That's why they wore the masks. Besides, ain't nothing wrong with some protest and civil disobedience. **** the establishment, **** the authority.

A lot of people were calling for Dubya to be assassinated too. There was a film about it. Can't recall a lot of excitement over that for some reason...

You're wrong on this one:

In 2007, Purdue University student Vikram Buddhi was convicted of posting messages to Yahoo Finance criticizing the Iraq War and stating, "Call for the assassination of GW Bush" and "Rape and Kill Laura Bush." The defense had argued that the defendant never explicitly threatened anyone. He was located despite efforts to disguise where the messages were coming from.[20]

The source will also inform why you are incorrect in your free speech claim.

Its called freedom of speech whether you agree or not.

No. It's long established that "freedom of speech" does not include the right to threaten to kill the President.
