His beliefs don't match yours, why would you expect him to act on your beliefs and not his?

conservative, by the way, does not mean "limited government," nor does liberal mean "big government."

How exactly is he doing it? By disagreeing with some tactics employed by some Republicans in Congress? Please. He is a fiscal conservative and a limited government reformer succeeding in a very blue state. He is a looming disaster for the progressives, not an opportunity for "conquest".

Indeed. Liberal actually used to mean "limited government", but then the word was pickpocketed by American social democrats. "Liberal" in France, Germany, Poland or Russia still means, roughly, "moderate libertarian".

There is already a party for big government/social authoritarians......and that party is democratic party.

True liberals (classical liberalism) is not the same as contemporary liberals we see today.....and American conservatism before it was highjacked decades ago was for preservation of classical liberalism.

Why were American conservatives intended to preserve American liberalism?.....so they can practice their traditions, faith and heritage without government influence or social control.

Two of biggest enemies of American form of conservatism and classical liberalism is government control for social justice and social religion. Both wants use government to control the people.

Huh?! Have you actually read my post?

George Bush engaged in a "confrontation" with House Republicans, and positioned himself a "third way", acceptable candidate; Christie is doing pretty much the same. Why should we ignore the similarity?
George Bush had $50M in the bank before he ever announced and $100M by the time the first primary. Positioning himself a "third way" isn't what got him the nomination or the Presidency. He was not a member of Team Clinton and that was all that mattered to many, much in the way that not being part Of Team Kenya is going to be all that matters of the GOP nominee in 2016.
