Republicans mount shock comeback, erase Democrats’ edge in eyes of Americans

Obama has been working very hard to change the Democrats' standing and it seems to be having an effect.

His actual legacy may be very similar to Jimmy Carter's.

So. It looks like thus far the effects of the shut-down have equaled out the effects of the Obamacare debacle. Going forward, mind you, the only thing driving the numbers will be the continued Obamacare debacle....

..... until we find a way to do something else stupid.

Worth noting, however, is that the poll is of registered rather than likely voters, which will lean slightly D, and that "hoping the opposition really screws up" is not a terribly good strategy. :) Gonna be funny to watch Democrats begin to swing against ole O-Care.

Both parties are equally crap, we just teeter totter between which one we're pissed off at in any given moment. That's why Republocrat rule ensures that nothing changes.

Quite the "comeback"... and look at what each party accomplished. The Democrats pushed through legislation that is a first step towards single payer and eventually will be working fine guaranteeing almost everyone insurance and hopefully overall better healthcare. The Republicans shutdown the government costing 25 billion was it? And stomped their feet, made a big fuss, slit their own throat.

Who is supposed to be proud of what now?

Ignoring the fact that the "comeback" in the stories title is about poll numbers, not electoral accomplishments....and ignoring the fact you just basically flat out admitted that ACA is nothing but a purposeful measure to move towards single payer....what you just typed is hardly some kind of sterling exaltation of the Democrats or condemnation of Republicans. Let's take your general premise here....Democrats accomplished "Good" action, Republicans accomplished "Bad" action. With that in mind, the fact that Republicans poll numbers have moved back up and they're running neck and neck with the Democrats is hardly a "good" sign for Democrats. Republicans do this seemingly horrible thing in your mind as they "stomp their feet" and "make a big fuss" and Democrats push through legislation for "Overall better healthcare"....and yet their neck and neck in the public eye in regards to these polls.

The difference being is that liberals believe keeping more of what you earn is welfare and Republicans think that dependence on the govt. is welfare. You see, Republicans don't have nay problem with you keeping more of what you ear and most don't care if that means you have more than someone else. You on the other hand seem to believe that welfare directed at Republicans is a tax cut which makes you exactly the kind of person Democrats of today love. After all we all know that the govt. needs the money more than the individual taxpayer, right?
Are you drunk again? Because what you're talking about has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

You misused the word "shock".

Firstly, in your title it should be "shocking".
Secondly, nothing about the comeback/reversal is shocking. Humans are a fickle breed.

No, but apparently you are since you have no idea what I was responding to. Here is what you posted

Republicans like welfare when they're on the receiving end.

Republican welfare to a liberal like you is keeping more of what a person earns.

Actually liar, this is the message you were quoting...

It's post #15. While it's understandable that a habitual liar such as yourself might be having trouble keeping your stories straight, put a little more effort into it next time.

His actual legacy may be very similar to Jimmy Carter's.

That is certainly the feeling one is beginning to get and time is running short to do anything about it.

Yeah, take that American Taxpayers, we at the govt. know what is best for you and you aren't capable of making that decision on your own!

That is a very sad attitude that you have. Making what decision on their own are you referring to?

james madsion--Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government.

james madsion--“I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”

YOu need to read your actual Constitution and put down the opinions of mere individuals .

Robbing Peter to pay Paul serves the needs of Paul at the expense of Peter.

And the resulting public policy that you would like us all to adopt coming out of this quip would be what exactly?

It will shock you to know that there are more Hispanic conservatives in this state than you are willing to acknowledge. Your opinion noted but the actual map of TX doesn't show what you think it does. Houston was 49-49 and has a conservative mayor who happens to be a Lesbian Democrat. 57% of the Texas vote went to Romney.

It is being proven in this state that Hispanics aren't as dumb as liberals want to portray them
And, like with women, your party is driving away those Hispanic Conservatives with its war on immigration. As the D shifts further Right, the R loses more and more voters.

Look at the list you drove away:the poor, the educated, gays, women, youth, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Jews...even Catholics. Who other than aging white males do the GOP have left?

One in which the federal government doesn't rob Peter to pay Paul. Such a policy serves the needs of Paul at the expense of the general welfare.

Which would abolish taxation.

The Hispanics seem to support he rule of law more than you do. I posted the map for the 2012 election which doesn't even come close to showing what you want to believe.

No it wouldn't.

The very nature of taxation is to take from one and provide some government program or service to another. What you describe as the peter and paul situation.

The very essence of taxation is to take money from one person, and the government then redistributes it in some fashion.
