There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Funny how things change in such a short time eh?
Progressives did leave it. I was born in 49 and lots of people in my age group did leave because they objected to participation in certain practices mandated by the US government. Leaving for something better is the reason this land was founded in the first place by people from Europe.

You have made a choice to live in the USA and be part of the USA with all that comes with it. If you decide otherwise you may exercise your free choice.

I see that you are unwilling to take a stand. Someone's comment about a greased weasel comes to mind. I can see now why he made such a comment.

Your refusal to answer gives us the answer.

You are making assumptions about where I live.

You still haven't explained the connection. If a person lives somewhere in the USA what does that have to do with any relationships he may or may not enter into? What does one's physical location have to do with one's relationships and agreements with other people?

Trying to equate the days of a shutdown by the Tea Party, not the republicans with a catastrophe that may have no limits attributed to a babbling fool with no qualifications for the office backed by a staff that changes personnel every three months. I want one libby to give up the date when Obammy care will be fixed. Remember, only things that do not work need fixing.
    It's nothing more than X's and O's.

It is YOU who are unwilling to explain YOUR own standard --- YOUR own term that YOU introduced into the discussion.

Then feel free to clarify that situation. Yes, I have taken in based on your posts that you live in the USA. If you do not, you can correct that.

What does one's physical location have to do with one's relationships and agreements with other people?
"ones physical location".... oh my! I am talking about where you have made a choice to live in the nation of your choice with the laws of your choice and with the customs, responsibilities and obligations of your choice.

I'm sorry, but I thought I was dealing with someone who was at least semi-literate.

But I am always happy to educate. Here is a link to the merriam webster entry for ethical: Ethical - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

So, having provided you with the definition of "ethical", I have now given you the power to answer the question: Do you consider it ethical to take one person's money and give it to another?

Taxation is part of the accepted rules of behavior in our society and that meets with your definition - your standard - that you introduced.

See, that was pretty easy once you provided your standard.
