Yeah, but they didn't actually enter into the agreement voluntarily, did they?

Taxation is a basic power of all functioning governments. Spending those revenues on programs and services is another basic function of all functioning governments. It has been authorized by the people through their elected representatives in the peoples government under the United States Constitution.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

So..... is that a yes? You DO consider it ethical to take one person's money and give it to another?

You and I went through this just the other day. I thought that you agreed that people enter into voluntary relationships joining larger groups and in doing so willingly cede some of their own autonomy , their own wants, their own needs to the group in return for the benefits of belonging to the group. Did not we go through this just recently?

Yes, they did and I have already discussed that with you.

Is it your position that you were sentenced to live in the USA and are being confined here against your will and are being prevented from exercising your own choice to be a part of our system and all it entails or not be a part of our system and all it entails?

ETHICAL is your standard. What does it mean to you?

Yes, when a person enters into a voluntary relationship with other people, they often agree to required behaviors as a condition of continuing that relationship.

How that relates to social security escapes me. You're claiming that people sign up for social security voluntarily? Really? Have you checked to see whether your pants are on fire?

Participation in the USA is a purely voluntary act. Unlike some other nations which make it very difficult if not impossible to leave, we do not do that in the USA.

Were you sentenced to live here as some punishment for a crime? Are you being kept here against your will? Are you being prevented from exercising your ultimate freedom of choice to decide where you will live?

Please correct me but I was under the impression you lived in the USA of your own free will.

What is means to me is irrelevant to my question. My question was do YOU consider it ethical to take one person's money and give it to another?

How does where a person lives have anything to do with the relationships into which one enters?
