Oh - yeah - sure - right --- you remind me of Willie Wonka lamely holding up a hand and saying in a very soft voice "no stop don't" as that bratty girl is about to drown in his river of chocolate.

But again, I guess you have no compunction about advocating the government not honor its commitments to the American people despite them honoring theirs?

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

You could be right about the child - and I agree that original is far superior. Depp was simply far too creepy.

You keep saying it's voluntary. By what method does one remove themselves from paying into S.S. and medicare without becoming a member of congress or having an exceptionally high income? Which form do I sign? Which government office do I contact?

One can do several things including working in the underground economy where taxes are not collected.... working not at all .... exercising your ultimate right of free choice by withdrawing from the USA because of policies you object to and doing what the Pilgrims did and go somewhere else as their is no Berlin Wall keeping you here against your will.

Your living here is voluntary. It is of your own free will. When you know what is required of you and you continue to stay, you have consented to the situation.

The government ought not have made the commitment in the first place. But I would be fine with the government paying everyone back what they contributed. And then it should be shut down.

Perhaps you can supply a link citing Al Gore as a historic figure key to the internet development.

    It's right in your link:
The concept and plan for a national US research and education network is proposed by Gordon Bell et al in a report to the Office of Science and Technology, written in response to a congressional request by Al Gore. (Nov) It would take four years until the establishment of this network by Congress (:gb1

Ahh I see. There's also the option of choosing to change the system from within, but you ignored that part. Well of course there's also the Lenin analogy. The Russians could have just accepted gulags and anyone who didn't like it should have just left. Sure lots of people left but anyone who didn't had no right to complain about gulags.

You're doing mental backflips to justify pyramid schemes. That they're popular doesn't change that fact that they are indeed pyramid schemes.
