The smiling woman who was once the face of the Affordable Care Act's website has come out of the shadows to stand up to the "cyberbullying" she says she suffered after the law's flawed kickoff.

Only a cowardly piece of scum would threaten this woman.... But wait.... Was she threatened and bullied? Actually, she was not. She was just made fun of. Guess what else? Nobody knew who she was either, other than a symbol. Nothing more, and nothing personal. Nobody sent her threatening emails. Nobody posted in social media that she was a whore, drug user, or otherwise engaged in any activities that would smear her. All people did was to make fun of her because she was a symbol of a program that they do not much care for. When she volunteered to become a symbol of Obamacare, her picture became a public figure, and rightly or wrongly, opened her up to ridicule from those who do not like the program that she is a symbol for.

What is cyberbullying? I would say that the teenaged girl who committed suicide because she was constantly threatened with harm by her school mates was being bullied. As for THIS lady? I am really broken up about her feelings being hurt...... NOT!! Cyberbullying? I call BS on that. If she wants to be seen as a symbol by the public, then she had better either grow a thicker skin, or just get the hell out of the kitchen.

WTF???

She isn't responsible for the law or the web site!!!

Did I hear that she isn't a US Citizen but is a legal resident? What a way to treat people trying to make a better life for themselves.

Unless some of her 'friends' from Facebook or real life recognized her, I don't know how she could be directly confronted.

If she's not a US citizen, screw her!

Frankly, I'm surprised she was an actual woman rather than a computer generated image.

If the Obamacare web designers tried to computer generate the image of a woman chances are there's would have been a picture of a Turnip on the Obamacare homepage.

Think about that just a second; she's a legal resident. Unlike the tens of millions of Illegal Aliens, she's following the law, and should be protected by the law from these attacks.

Ha! Or maybe a vivid 10x10 pixels!

I often doubt the legitimacy of people who claim to be (insert political label) then play the stereotype for effect.

My cousin (by marriage,) mentioned on her facebook page that she successfully enrolled in one of the insurance exchanges and got better insurance than she had for a lesser price. She says she has been getting all kinds of nastygrams since.

Imagine all the egg on the faces of all the naysayers if this thing turns out to be good.

I had an old timer come in my office yesterday and he told me that the same thing happened back when Social Security was introduced.

This too, shall pass.

The SS poster girl got hate mail? ;)

LOL! Yeah, Pony Express!

Seriously though, he said that the introduction to Social Security was cursed in the same way Obamacare is being poo-poo'd now.

Actually, Medicare Part D had the same kinds of problems when it began, and people were bashing the hell out of Bush. Works pretty good now.

I know. As I said, this too shall pass.

Besides. I am getting bored with all the Obamacare drama the naysayers just can't let go of. I'm ready to move on to the next faux-crisis.

Or, maybe Michael Jackson will die again and we can change the subject for a while.

I can only stand to watch someone beat a dead horse for so long before I start losing interest. It's kind of like going to a blues or bluegrass festival. I'm good for about an hour and then I'm headed to the bar. LOL!

Likely so, it taxed you then (from the first $1 of income) for promises of retirement benefits (for only the worker) starting after normal life expectancy, included the first UI insurance program and congress critters (like all oother federal employees) exempted themselves from it. ;)

If you're on the Left, an allegation alone is enough to warrant a full-bored investigation.

Have you signed up for Obamacare yet. Can we count you as one of the 106,000? Actually YOU were bashing the hell out of Bush for anything and everything, whether it was true or not.

No I wasn't. I applauded him on his choice of judges for starters. So quit lying, and take it elsewhere.

Lying? We talked about this plenty, and you definitely had it out for Bush the entire time. The man couldn't win no matter what.

Who's attacking her? Mystery people on-line?

FWIW I think she was chosen because she's not a citizen.

Columbians are arrogant people to begin with.

I bet you are tired of hearing about it...LOL!

Colombians and Venezuelans. Anyone that's spent any time at all in Miami can attest to this.

FOX is reporting only 27,000. [guessing the ones who actually paid]

Obviously a lie to make Obamacare look bad.

I just hope there's enough left in there when I get up in front of the check out line.

You know, I have nothing but a hunch, but I always suspected that all this push on health care reform, a.k.a. the A.C.A. from the Obama camp, was a result of some back room deal he made with Hillary back during the primaries to get her to go down easy and throw her support behind him. That, and a high level position like say, Secretary of State. I have never been convinced Obama was that emotionally invested in it, initially. Heathcare was always Hillary's thing.

As I said earlier, since I have no skin in the game, I could take Obamacare or leave it. I got mine. And if my **** falls through the floor, there's always the VA. But I do like the part of guaranteed insurability, no lifetime limits, making people buy and be responsible for their OWN healthcare. It's what I don't know that freaks me out. Maybe I have been listening to much to all those partisan naysayers. It seems that only people of a particular ideology is cursing it tooth and nail. And, honestly, I have never found the people of that particular ideology to be that informed or capable of critical thought to any measurable degree.

But it sure is hard to ignore them. Like a screaching noise.
