This was reported on our 24hours news radio channel, a Cumulus broadcasting company. Not Fox. It seems to make sense, but I haven't heard any of this on the other news outlets.
You've hit the key point in this. Those in immediate need are signing up, and they'll be drawing from the funds received just as immediately and in high dollar amounts.

Those who are not in immediate need aren't signing up, and they're the ones needed to float the note.

If you happen on the website by accident, you signed up.

    Also there are theses Updates.

UPDATE II: In a conference call with reporters, Sebelius said, "The marketplace is working," and "We can reasonably expect these numbers will grow substantially over the next five months."

UPDATE III: Naturally, the HHS enrollment site where official numbers are posted, has crashed.....snip~
the law of unintended consequences, short answer, yes. That portion is keeping quite a lot of the young invinceables from applying for health insurance that is needed to counter act the older and those with pre-existing conditions.

One of the biggest problems as I see it. This law was passed by those who assumed people, companies, everyone and everything wouldn't change their habits or the way they do things. When dealing with something this big and sweeping, people adjust, change habits, so to do companies, they don't continue to do things their old ways when the rules of the game has changed. No one can take everything or anticipate how people will react in the future when everything they knew and were use to has changed, is gone, no longer there. Yep, the law of unintended consequences certainly does apply. Murphy is alive and well, as in Murphy's law.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
