They were entirely right, that he was TRYING.

    -illegal moritorium on gulf drilling
-slow down and rejection of permitting
    -blocking of Keystone pipeline
-attempts to pass carbon credit scheme
    -epa attacks on fracking
-congressional proposals for higher gas taxes

Luckily theres plenty of oil on non federal lands, which is where the growth has been. Federal drilling had declined. And Republicans have kept Obama busy on other things.

It's been $2.97 here for a week. About 40 minutes down the Interstate, it's $2.88.

My state taxes are too high for that. I paid $3.51 this morning.

    Very jealous of you two.

Of course. When something good happens, it is despite Obama and when something bad happens, it's because of Obama. Perfectly logical.

Sounds like Illinois. I live close to the border, and it's amazing the difference in price.

Yes, that and the opposite is true, depending on who you talk to and on what issue. I'm glad I always remember seeing you taking this tone when left leaning posters are explaining how any bad news is everyone but Obama's fault.....

As to this, great to see it. I imagine it will only continue as fracking becomes a more common practice and we start taking advantage of the reserves around this country.

I'd still personally rather see us investing money into technologies that can synthesize oil or get more out of it than attempting to push massively for an energy source that would require an overhaul of the entire infastructure that is currently in place.

The left leaning posters generally don't reply to me in a contentious manner. But if they did and they said something equally ridiculous, I would reply to them just the same. His statement, when taken in context of attacks made by Republicans/conservatives, failed the common sense test. I've said many times before, and will continue to say, I'm only about one thing and that's facts and common sense.

Okay, so I guess I'm about two things.

Or perhaps, if you look at the FACTS, like the ones i posted, someone can come to an informed opinion about something, and not default to disagreement on principle.

    Edit -

They were and still are correct. Obama has done everything he could to try and stop the boom. To bad for him most of "the boom" isn't coming from land that the feds control.

If we looked at FACTS, we'd note that at least half of your list had nothing to do with Obama. If we looked at FACTS, we'd note giving the President credit or blame for rising or lowering gas prices or oil production is an erroneously simplistic view of the situation.

If we looked at the FACTS, your post(s) would be just as ridiculous as before and mine would be shown as the tongue-in-cheek comment(s) they have always been meant to be.
