I don't think this shows that. Could very well be the ones that already smoked pot are now just bringing it to school with them. They need to know it's still illegal for minors to possess.

Somebody has to wash our cars, dance around waving signs in front of pizza restaurants, mow lawns, etc. Might as well be the Liberal's kids. Leaves more room at the professional schools for our children.

This is all it takes to make them happy so it's all good.

Is it possible that the officers are making an effort to find more kids with weed and not that the number of users has grown? Seems like a strong possibility. Violent crime rates in America have gone down to historically low levels yet there are more people than ever in jail. Is this because more people are committing crimes or because more criminals have been legislated into existence?

Dillon, who is now a school resource officer with the Mesa County Sheriff's Department, said he is seeing more and younger kids bringing marijuana to schools, in sometimes-surprising quantities.

Who could have foreseen this? It's a mystery...
Pot usage, even among teens, has been increasing dramatically over the past 40 years in every state. You need data showing the rate of teenagers who use pot compared to other states during the same time period.

A "Oh yeah this one guy says it totally seems like more" is not 'proving' jack ****.

We on the other hand actually have data that shows countries who have legal/easier-access to pot have lower rates of teenage use. What the hell do you have?

Actually, regulating the drug introduces product and age controls in what is currently a black market that is much more accessible to minors and completely uncontrolled.

So other than this one shabby article, where is the evidence that pot use is increasing among children as a result of this law?

With the legalization of weed ends the stigma it brings with it, not only that but parents undoubtedly have eased the "hide the weed from the kids" mentality (not that it is ever hidden) and it's lying around more, like a bottle of Scotch. With it being a "new toy" it isn't surprising that you'd see a short term increase in children playing show and tell and maybe taking in the occasional toke. I would have to think it would be considered cool to show off mommy and daddy's stash.

Half an o isn't that big a deal, that's carry around weight where it is illegal for many...

That's shocking? I remember buying my first dime in jr high from another student. Dude had a ton of dope in his backpack every day, individually wrapped baggies and pre rolled joints. By the time I got to high school, kids went from selling pot and adderall pills, to cocaine and oxycontins. And this is in Texas, where they don't go soft on drug crime at all, let alone stand to legalize pot in the next century. Seriously, if this cop is legitimately shocked by kids having HP's of dope, I have to wonder what the hell he's been doing, because public schools and drugs go hand in hand.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.
