In an exclusive interview with NBC's Chuck Todd President apologized that some Americans have lost their health insurance plans. Will this be enough to satisfy his haters out there? Of course not. A short video at Exclusive: Obama personally apologizes for Americans losing health coverage - U.S. News

President Obama said Thursday that he is "sorry" that some Americans are losing their current health insurance plans as a result of the Affordable Care Act, despite his promise that no one would have to give up a health plan they liked.

"I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me," he told NBC News in an exclusive interview at the White House.

"We've got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this."

I thought infomercials weren't allowed on DP. Do I at least get a Sham-Wow with this?

Well, credit for admitting it, but that doesn't really fix anything now does it Mr. Obama?

Not good enough. Is he sorry he lied, sorry he got caught in the lie and no one will accept his constant efforts to shift blame, or sorry he didn't listen when he was told time and again that this would happen? If he's so sorry then join the republicans in nuking this nightmare before it becomes unnukable.

at least he knows how to apologize

I see today that even left wing stalwarts like The Atlantic have joined in the complaints.

With Obama's apology and $2.39, you can get a cup of coffee at the bagel shop.

This man, who I voted FOR in 2008, is a shady character. This is too little, too late.

((Besides, this is all Bush's fault))

at least he knows how to apologize
not really. Check Todd had to put him in a postion he had to at least say it.

Apology not needed, fix the web /adjust the law.

2012 was the first time in my life I voted 3rd party. I wept with joy the night Obama was elected in 08. I've been a Civil Rights and Gay Equality advocate (putting my money where my thoughts are) and I was so proud of America and Obama. Not any more. He's a sneak and a blamer.

I just hope the GOP will drop their war on civil rights and bring value to the table. I like Christie - a lot. But we'll see....

I'm not sold on Christie; but then again I really don't know much about him.
I will NOT vote for Hilary - her lies about Libya (Bengazi/Viagra rape); and her general neoconish ways..no way.

I'm all about stopping our "dizzying interventionism" overseas, but your domestic goals are laudable.

As long as Obama has his Tiger Team on this to fix the problem, apology accepted, all is forgiven...

You won't find a more decent, honest, man than Jeb Bush - I have faith the Republicans will get it right this time around.

I watched it just a few minutes ago on CNN, Erin Burnett Outfront, excepts to be sure with a 3 person panel discussing it. Gloria Borger and 2 others. I think his lead in to the I'm Sorry was a bit too much, but I thought later on when he said the Buck stops with me was great. I agree this will not stop any Republican from continuing on, it might however improve the independents view of him. He is at only 32% approval/favorable rating among independents. How they react, we will have to wait and see. But independents tend to like the man, but are not pleased with the way he is doing his job.

Personally, I am fairly satisfied, but that is not the same as being satisfied or fully satisfied. But I do feel better about this president than I have in a month or more.

Sorry. I can't support dynasties. Bush I was a good guy. Bush II was a destructive child (IMHO). I'm not up for Bush III but I am liking Christie I.

Fair enough - However, I wasn't pumping the "dynasty" - pumping Jeb Bush is not like pumping Chelsea Clinton - Jeb Bush is a very accomplished man and if anything the dynasty part hurts him. People shouldn't be judged by their relatives.

Yeah, in I wish it were land Jeb would have run first and his brother would have stayed in Texas.

If his administration follows up with some adjustments that makes the plans requirements more fair, and get that website fixed they'll be ahead of this debacle.

He is just what happens when the Peter Principle is applied to politics. They should rename it the Obama Principle. I don't think he is so much shady as just checked out. He struck me as being over being President as soon as he lost the House. He just ran for re-election because that is what you are supposed to do to get history books written about you.

Senator Landrieu of LA has already introduced legislation in the senate to fulfill the promise of if you like your insurance you can keep it. That would be good enough for me if the president jumps aboard her bill. But until then, I will wait, watch and listening.

Fixing the Obamacare website will only make things worse. The more people that are exposed to Obamacare, the more outcry there will be against it. Socialism never works, has never worked and will not work now.

If he was really sorry he would ask the Senate to start working on a bill the would remove the ACA from law.

Well, I really, really liked Bill Clinton and I regretted his poor personal behavior ruined his efforts. I thought Al Gore would have been a good, calm President and Clinton ruined it for him by ****ing around ad selling pardons. Still, Bill Clinton had an amazing mind.

I find our endless military interventionism to be a bad decision. The Chinese build bridges and we bomb them. Who will be a better friend in the future.

No, I admit that it is a personal quirk. If the Father had more influence over the son, Bush II might have been a better leader. But I just can't bear another Bush, rightly or wrongly.

Yes. If they make this work, they'll be able to keep their powers and keep spying on us.

Obamacare was a piss-poor strategy. A funded insurance company for the last resort would have been much easier and more effective and you could have actually kept your plan. But this way, political favors could be buried in the mass of chaos (and some nice taxes on the middle class).

For 2 years all political capital was invested in this Rupe Goldberg medical concept at a time when job creation would have been so much more valuable and earned a place in history.

I hope it works out - I'm not one to wish failure on Obama.

its never to late to apologize but it can be to late for that apology to be accepted, and considered sincere

Somehow these two sentences are conflicting. He doesn't say folks lost coverage due to ACA. Paraphrasing; he is sorry they are in a situation based on his assurances...? They are in the situation they are in (lost plans they liked) due to a law he signed.

If 'their situation' is feeling betrayed (read 'lied to') well then I guess it makes sense. Paraphrased again; "I'm sorry that they feel betrayed based on incorrect assurances they got from me".

Everyone complains about the natl debt, entitlements, welfare and cost of medical and when someone tries to do something, because it's not the right party or flawless they have a cow. Something has got to be done and given a chance to work, if it flops, then we can call it crap.
