A youthful mistake is one thing. Providing aid and comfort to the enemy is another.

The left will forgive any leftist, no matter what their crime, but will be critical of Joe McCarthy for exposing spies in the US government forever.

"Another infamous deed of Fonda is the naming of her son, Troy. Fonda returned to Vietnam shortly after the war ended in 1975, with her small son, to attend a special service being held in her honor. Fonda was still a recognized idol and hero to the Communist regime from her earlier years of sending money, food and moral support to the North Vietnamese.

But the ceremony, it turned out, was not just to recognize and honor Fonda for her love of the Communists. Her newborn son was formally christened and named for the Communist hero Nguyen Van Troi. Troi was a Viet Cong sapper who was executed by the South Vietnamese in 1963 for attempting to assassinate U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara"

They were wars between two or more factions within a nation, not invasions from outsiders (until the USA got involved). Some support for one side and/or the other from outsiders (such as support from other nations for the Union during the USA's civil war) does not change the fact that they were civil wars.

Many of those countries you mentioned were a part of the Cold War and what you seem to think was a 'civil war' usually involved help from the USSR. Don't continue to believe the old leftist communist propaganda prior to 1989. Instead read The Black Book of Communism for a genuine history lesson, or the Venona Papers. The Communists excelled only at propaganda.

Iraq and Afghanistan are involved in a civil war? Between who and whom?

Leftists continue to believe the old anti American propaganda without any perspective or understanding of whats genuinely going on in the world. These are the sort of people who would vote for a Barrack Obama.
