America's top UN diplomat has high praise for 'Hanoi Jane' [W:306]

Can you prove she did that? Making a bunch of accusations...

I saw her picture on the gun mount, I heard the testimony of many POWS in the Hanoi Hilton........That is good enough for me ........Its been 40 years my left wing friend and we who served in Nam at the time know the truth..........I wish I could be the one to pull the switch and end her miserable life.

I would let it rest guy. There are people who will never understand how one can be serving our country in Vietnam and look across the DMZ to Hanoi and see this gal sitting at on that anti aircraft gun with her pith helmet on aiming that gun skyward toward her own countries plane and her fellow Americans who flew them. She is a hero to them. Yes, in my book it was aiding and abetting the enemy. But there are somethings others will never understand with having been there and experienced it.

I look at it this way, what I did in Vietnam and Laos, I hope made it possible for those who hold her in high esteem and put us who served in Vietnam and the surrounding counties down to continue with their free speech and to continue to enjoy their freedom. There is a time one must just let it go. I use to hate her with a passion, I don't anymore, hate accomplishes nothing. But I haven't forgot or forgiven. Neither have most other Vietnam Vets. My advice, just let this threat pass into oblivion.

Welcome home.

Same to you my friend...Don't worry no matter how much these lefties whine I will never forget.......God Bless....

I couldn't find that picture online. Do you know where I could see it?

You mean the thing about ratting out a prisoner trying to get a message out to his wife or something? No, that was made up.

Thats just one thing Hanoi Jane did while aiding and comforting the enemy.

On November 21, 1970 she told a University of Michigan audience of some two thousand students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist." At Duke University in North Carolina she repeated what she had said in Michigan, adding "I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism. " Washington Times July 7, 2000

I wonder what legal examples of "giving comfort and aid to the enemy" are, and whether Jane Fonda's actions are legally applicable.

Speaking in favor of communism isn't a crime.

I saw her picture on the gun mount,
Sitting on a gun mount endangered people? I thought guns dont kill people...

I heard the testimony of many POWS in the Hanoi Hilton........
Veterans had a hearing and testified against her? What hearing was this?

You know the truth? How so? Just cuz you served in a war and she was in Hanoi?

.......I wish I could be the one to pull the switch and end her miserable life.
Thats pretty pathetic.

Back then, communist in America and the "New Left" advocated the violent overthrow of the U.S. government.

They gave up during the mid 70's and decided to overthrow the government from with in by hiding behind labels like liberal or progressive and getting elected to public office.

Re: Hanoi Jane

Visited Hanoi during the Vietnam War, at which time she accused American soldiers of acting as “war criminals” (That aiding and comforting the enemy)
“If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist. . . . I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism.”
Married Tom Hayden one of the leaders of the SDS aka New Left.
Co-founded (with Tom Hayden) the Indochina Peace Campaign, which worked tirelessly to cut American aid to the governments in Saigon and Phnom Penh and help the North Vietnamese Communists and the Cambodian Khmer Rouge overthrow them.

>" In July-August 1972 Fonda made her infamous trip to North Vietnam. By this time, over 50,000 Americans had been killed in the war. While there, she posed for pictures on an anti-aircraft gun that had been used to shoot down American planes, and she volunteered to do a radio broadcast from Hanoi. She made approximately eight radio addresses, during which she told American pilots in the area:

“Use of these bombs or condoning the use of these bombs makes one a war criminal … Examine the reasons given to justify the murder you are being paid to commit … I don’t know what your officers tell you ... but [your] weapons are illegal and that’s not just rhetoric ... The men who are ordering you to use these weapons are war criminals according to international law, and in the past, in Germany and Japan, men who committed these kinds of crimes were tried and executed.”

Fonda also quoted Ho Chi Minh during some of these broadcasts. She referred to President Richard Nixon as a “new-type Hitler,” and advised South Vietnamese soldiers to desert: “You are being used as cannon fodder for U.S. imperialism.”

These radio addresses were aired repeatedly by the North Vietnamese Communists, for whom propaganda was a key tool of psychological warfare; they used the broacasts not only to hearten their own citizens, but also to undermine the American public's will to go forward with the war, and to crush the morale of U.S. and allied forces..."<

Another excerpt:

>" Such statements could have had only one purpose: to provide aid and comfort to America's Communist enemy. Fonda's propaganda efforts played a major role in prolonging the war and increasing the death toll. As North Vietnamese Colonel Bui Tin explained in a postwar interview with The Wall Street Journal, the American antiwar movement "was essential to our strategy. Support for the war from our rear [China] was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9 a.m. to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi by people like Jane Fonda . . . gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses."..."<

Are you a lawyer or work for military courts that determine what does and doesn't constitute "aid and comfort to the enemy"? Because I asked for a legal basis, not a diatribe against communism or some layman's opinion on whether she gave aid and comfort to the enemy.

Those American soldiers who were stabbed in the back while they were still on the battlefields of Vietnam have weighed the evidence and have found Jane (Hanoi) Fonda guilty of providing aid and comfort to the enemy of the United States during war time.

Anyone who defends this leftist traitor is guilty of aiding and abetting an enemy of the United States.

If you freedom too hard you'll break it.

It was 58,000 worse names on that wall in DC my left wing friend.....By her name Hanoi Jane put a few of them up there herself.........It sad the you believe her over Medal of Honor winners and other highly decorated vets...

Oh and I did suck it up....13 moths in country and 20 months on a ship (2 cruises) in the South China Seas.....Instead of running to Canada or protesting by spitting at our troops on their return.

Whats the difference NP....you believe the swift boat liars over people who served this country honorably.....you just selectively choose those you are outraged about.

She could never be tried as a traitor... War was never declared against North Vietnam.

... Lol. Navy Pride arguing that we should have continued fighting a war to defend French colonial interests in a land nobody wanted us in never gets old. The biggest lie told about the Vietnam war is that we were there to bring freedom to the Vietnamese people. Hahaha. Nope, sorry - Disney story aside - we went in there to defend our economic interests. 58,000 people died so McDonald's could set up shop in Vietnam. If that's something worth dying for, go right ahead - but don't bull**** the rest of us into believing that the freedom of the Vietnamese was important when we were funding and supporting 2 dozen different dictators around the world.

I would say someone has already broke it in the past four years.

Nice dodge, but seriously if defending someone that you've accused of treason makes one a traitor as well than you've basically ended several liberties in your attempt to defend them. Specifically you've ended freedom of speech, because having a certain opinion equates to treason according to you, and you've ended the right to representation in court since if she had a defense attonery he'd be a traitor as well.

None of that has to do with Obama, that's your opinion.

Ours has that.
They still can be found in the urinals in many VFW and American Legion post around the nation.

You will not find to many urinals with the Jane Fonda target anymore on military installations. The liberals have classified all urinals to be sexist and politically incorrect and they are being replaced with gender friendly crappers.

And now he is on the board of directors of one of,if not the, one of the strongest RW lobby. The RWers are laughingstocks. But hey, that's just me...Ted deserves at least as much disdain as Jane, but he has money and likes guns and says stupid far right things.
Wow, that's your argument?

She sat in a seat. Oh my god! And someone snapped a photo! Thats not treason. You would have to prove that she knew that those images were gonna be used as propaganda. And if that i dont even know if that would be considered treason.
Literally have no case or proof that she was "aiding and comforting the enemy".

LOL. Clinton didn't have sex with that woman, Ms Lewinsky either. Nor did Obama say you can keep your heath insurance, no matter what.

Do you really expect a truthful person to believe that when Hanoi Jane smiled and said cheese for those photo's that she didn't expect they would be used against America? And her a lousy actress?

I got to give it to you -ists. No matter what the fairy tale is about, your type spins it until the end.

Pretending your spin to be true, just what was our economic interests that led to our involvement in this war? Would you think it possible that there might have been a whole lot more to the story than just another BS liberal line of spin?

I find it hard to believe that Navy supported the liar John Kerry. Please provide proof.

You mean like the BS right wing line of spin that states they attacked a US warship?
