I am not sad to see them go. It's the same for any kind of medium...8-tracks, beta, laserdisc, cassettes, VHS. I'm wondering what is going to make DVD and Blue-ray bite the dust. On the other hand, I am glad to see vinyl start to make a comeback.
The only thing that sucks about VHS is there were a good handful of movies that never transitioned to DVD/Blue-ray since they went out of print.
Platforms like Vudu. 100% digital, streamed to any device you own. I have a Vudu account, and can watch any movie I have on there (which, granted, isn't many right now) on my TV, my laptop, my desktop, my kindle, my tablet or my iPhone. Any time. It's hard to not like watching movies that way.
