The only thing that sucks about VHS is there were a good handful of movies that never transitioned to DVD/Blue-ray since they went out of print.
Back in the 70's they actually had a "vinyl movie player".....

I understand.... I know a site where I can just stream it, I could download it if I want from numerous sites...

My Brother got popped too - the internet provider sent like (seriously) 100 letters to my house lol.

You must have been with UVerse!

No, seriously - its not so much Comcast - it's what they're attached to. I'd hate to know the Feds were coming after me because I didn't want to drop a couple of bucks on a movie rental.

The last in my city Blockbuster closed last year and the last Movie Gallery was gone a couple years ago. Can't say I miss Blockbuster since I hadn't been there in decades. I racked up over $20 in late fees when I was a teenager and just stopped going there.

There's still a Family Video about a mile down the street though, which is really convenient.

But usually if I want to see something that isn't on Netflix I just borrow DVDs or Blu-Rays from the public library. They've got a much larger selection than any video rental store I've ever been to, along with a searchable database online. Plus it's free. The only downside is that the library is closed at night and on Sundays.

To be quite honest, I'm stunned Blockbuster lasted as long as it did. I figured it would have shuttered or gone online-only within a year of Netflix hitting the scene.

The only thing Blockbuster had going for it over Netflix was a more diverse selection, but even that can't counter the convenience of Netflix. I'll happily watch Netflix's selections over going to a Blockbuster, and I literally have a Blockbuster store less than half a mile from my house.

Damn skippy, I've taken out many movies from the public library (where I live has an amazing PL system), and if you're late, it's what ... 10 cents a day?

Honestly, I completely forgot about the library. I never go there anymore since I got the Kindle, but I forgot they have movies there, too.
