Man Claims He Was Anally Probed 8 Times Following Traffic Stop For Drugs

It does use the word "victim". The first article I posted.

You are right, I only noticed the second link. Thanks.

As I said, if the reporter saw the medical report, then the use of the word victim is appropriate.

I doubt there can be any defense to this-and this is coming from an attorney who has been tasked with defending Law enforcement officers. She should sue both the employing agency and all involved individuals in their official and INDIVIDUAL capacities. A quick settlement of 100-150K would probably be the best course

If this story doesn't enrage you, you're doing it wrong.

you do know New Mexico is a state unto itself, right?

Sorry, saw the article title and got confused between where it was reported and where it happened. Post edited.

Setting aside the horrific journalism of calling this guy a "victim" in the second paragraph before all the facts have come out, what a crazy story this is.

And to top it off, the guy was sent a $6,000 bill from the hospital for the procedures.

Man Seeks Millions After N.M. Police Force Colonoscopy in Drug Search - US News and World Report

Talk about having a really crappy day. Total suckage.

The above story is not even a little bit credible. A colonoscopy, and one he was charged for? Implausible. Was he on a clear liquid diet for 24 hours prior? Did he have to drink that awful salty nasty stuff to clean him out first?

He did have three rounds of enemas prior to the colonoscopy. They would've done a fine job of cleaning him out. He was also sent the $6,000 bill for the medical procedures he involuntarily underwent, so you would hope that the procedures were documented on there.

If it was me that was anally probed like that there would be NO amount of money I would settle for. None. It would be my mission in life to DESTROY the police department the prosecutors office and the hospital and all the individuals involved. 150,000k is nothing to their department. I would find out what their yearly budget was and multiply it by 100 as a settlement amount.

If the procedures are well documented, and can be confirmed, then this incredible story just might be true. If it is, I sincerely hope someone is hung out to dry over it.

Preferably everyone involved is hung out to dry. After they are tarred and feathered.

true but I like a suggestion former Cincinnati Talk show host Mike McConnell used to determine whether an award for a tort

tell people what the damage was and what the payout was. If a fair amount of people line up and say they will undergo the harm for the award its probably too generous. If no one volunteers its probably not enough though he noted no one would agree to say be blinded or paralyzed.

but for stuff you actually recover from-be it a beating, being sodomized, humiliated etc its a good suggestion

I suspect lots of people would agree to what this guy suffered for say a million

a fair amount for 150K

none for say 100 bucks unless they like enemas and fingers in their rectums

that is the normal protocol when an emergency colonoscopy has to be performed and there is not time for the normal laxative protocol

Sounds like this guy got off easy compared to those trying to sign up on the Obamacare exchange.

Actually the entire incident was documented especially the medical incidents.

Emergency colonoscopy?
A colonoscopy is performed as a diagnostic tool, to find colon cancer while it is still treatable. It's hard to see why one would be performed on an emergency basis.

And trying to search for "narcotics" is not an emergency. Like Nancy said, let it pass, then see what is in it.

Like I said if it was me, money would be the last thing on my mind. Vengeance on the other hand would be very much so. To be honest I doubt I would resort legal measures and would probably go old school. What these officers did is the equivalent to rape, multiple times. There are certain things that are unforgivable.

death by bongo!!!!

Yet another incident involving controversial police actions. The medical personnel involved are at fault too. Both parties contributed to anal violation and torture of an innocent man. They equally deserve to be sued in the same uncompromising regard they showed that man.

outside of the war on drugs, intestinal bleeding comes to mind.

Those pigs and quacks should be prosecuted. Rape, kidnapping, human trafficking, torture. They should never get out of prison alive.

The taxpayers will fund the settlement of a couple hundred thousand dollars. A cop or two may get a few unpaid days off as punishment. Maybe the doctor(s) will get an admonishment on their record from the medical board. Other participants will be embarrassed for a couple of weeks. Otherwise, it will be business as usual.
