On January 1, 2014 up to 2/3 of all employer based coverage will be deemed illegal under Obamacare meaning that up to 93 million Americans will lose their current health care plans. According to the following investigation, like the individuals that are seeing huge increases, the people who have employer based insurance will also see an increase, but in the range of 15% to 20% in their premiums.

I for one predict that if this goes through as this investigation indicates, all hell will break loose and political heads will roll and nobody in the administration or on capital hill will be safe.

Great news, that means that 1/3 of the plans won't be illegal.

And will these plans be replaced with another plan?

And will these plans be replaced with another plan?

Yes, but from the exchange....I just looked this morning to see, and my coverage here from the same carrier, BC/BS would go from $240 per month my cost, to $834 per month if I want to keep anywhere near the same co pay, and deductible.

I'm sure as long as they have:

(A) Ambulatory patient services.
(B) Emergency services.
(C) Hospitalization.
(D) Maternity and newborn care.
(E) Mental health and substance use disorder services,
including behavioral health treatment.
(F) Prescription drugs.
(G) Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices.
(H) Laboratory services.
(I) Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease
management.
(J) Pediatric services, including oral and vision care.

not to mention no lifetime limit and no pre-existing preclusions...

More racist hate and a clear display of how the racist haters are hoping for failure which could negatively effect their fellow Americans!

Everybody needs to take notice who the haters are on this board and let them know they aren't fooling anybody anymore.

I don't think the bolded is true. Folks/businesses have the option to purchase plans OUTSIDE the exchange through the same Ins Co's...but the policies still MUST comply with the regs...

An example of what is just not true. And it's being exposed by the media now even though they have been slow to start.

Some people would rather try to blame Obama and his ACA than face the reality of their insurance companies trying to cheat them some more while there is a little confusion working on their sides.

Only in America can it get this ugly over the fight to insure people who have long been suffering for want of affordable health care.

Holy crap you are for you real...

Question for you, what's stopping people from havnig healthcare insurance that they want ... oh the whole affordable thing. Question, what's next? Affordable cars? Affordable housin.. well they have that, it's section 8! Oh I get it! You want all America to have Section 8 medical coverage! You sooo care.

Morning j.

Let's look at it this way. If you lose your employer based health insurance because it is deemed no longer legal under the PPACA and your employer choses not to get a different (and legal) plan forcing you to go to the exchange to get your health insurance without giving you a raise equal to the amount of their contribution to your health insurance they are effectively giving you a pay cut. In that scenario your employer is the bad guy and not the PPACA.

Nope it's true...I went on Healthcare.gov, and put in my state, and county. Then I chose my wife and I, and clicked through until I got the providers...It said there were 27 different plans, and companies, and I looked through them, and found the one that was closest to mine...Try it yourself, don't take my word for it.

That's a big if isn't it? And I would still consider the ACA the 'bad guy' for putting me in this position in the first place.

With co-pays, deductibles, and a whopping "free" 3 visits a years, with a fixed deductible" which should really serve people in rehab oh so well.

I agree with this fully. My argument was specifically against 'Yes, but from the exchange' understanding that the implication was that one could ONLY get coverage through the exchange as one CAN get coverage from the SAME providers outside the exchange. I know as this is what we did being uncomfortable with the data security among other things...like the website doesn't work for me!

So in your world an employer is to blame if they don't increase your salary to may for a federal program?

On that same note, that kind of thinking would make it really easy for me to fire someone so that I could afford to pay the rest of the employers more to cover their Unaffordable Care Act costs.

I consider my health insurance (the part paid for by my employer) as part of my compensation. If they get rid of that part of the compensation without making up for it monetarily it would constitute a pay cut.

Pretty much most of the insurance carriers are converting their group insurance plans next year to be in alignment with the Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc. that are available on the Exchanges. You should not expect much discounting from the Exchange prices.
