Oh absolutely! See, when that break in happened Nixon had no idea that was going on, but his subsequent attempt to cover up, after being told about it, and erasing tapes of conversations he had about it, was the lie...And what he was threatened with impeachment for...

Now, If we go by that standard, we don't need the O-care lies, we could simply go after the lies about Benghazi, and subsequent cover up ongoing today. ;)

Yeah, according to 'goofs' little chart, Nixon's causalities combined years, are less than any demo year involved in that war...So by a libs terminology Nixon did better than any of the demo Presidents, even with the mess he inherited from them...

Let's see, a CON dodge from answering the topic at hand and trying to deflect from the crap that didn't fly...imagine that... :roll:

The idea of a limited federal government was put forth by the soon to be extinct Federalists. Most of the writings cited were never ratified by the States, just drug out by a few from time to time to be bleated from a soapbox.

fact is 'limited federal government' failed on many levels from law enforcement to banking, from national defense to monopolies. What made sense for an agrarian tiny nation clinging to a seacoast makes little sense for the last surviving superpower transitioning from manufacture to service economy.

It is amazing to me that CONs embrace progress in soooo many facets of their life but cling to government concepts of a patriarchal, agrarian, pre-industrial 18th century society... :doh

Nixon inherited Vietnam and every year he was Prez the death total went down. Not even a nice try. Now lets get back on topic of the thread.

Not even Nixon could have done what Pol Pot did in Cambodia, killing 2-3 million of his own people in what was a country of 7 million and all of this after peace broke out, between April of 1975 and 1978 when the Vietnamese came to the Cambodian's people rescue and stopped the killing fields. Laos, not may died there, that was a country of three million people, most of the fighting was up on the PDJ and involved the Hmong tribe lead by Vang Pao against the NVA. But still after the Pathet Lao took over in 1975 it is estimated another 500,000 Lao died at their, the communist hands and the PL tried to exterminate the Hmong tribe.

I am not sure of the estimate on Vietnam or South Vietnam's people, but according to DOD you can chalk up another 2 million there as a result of re-education camps and the fleeing of the boat people. You add them all up and you will get between 5-6 million deaths after peace broke out in southeast asia. Yet one never hears about that.

maybe because the topic of the veitnam war is too emotionally charged for some people to actually discuss the consequences of leaving. i think most people just wanted to get out of there.

I was in Vietnam and none of the GIs I know wanted to turn tail and run...They wanted to win.

I know, then after the fall of Phnom Penh, Saigon and later Laos, basically the whole nation wanted to forget it ever happened. No one looked at the aftermath and the death yet to come after April of 1975 supposedly when peace reigned.
