Six.

That's how many people signed up for Obamacare on Day 1, according to CBS News, and no that's not a misprint.

The Obama administration has kept the number of enrollments close to the vest. Its touted the number of visitors to the troubled HealthCare.gov website – 4.7 million – but hasn't released the actual number of enrollments.

But according to CBS News, notes from a "war room" meeting the day after the Affordable Care Act launched on Oct. 1 say "six enrollments have occurred so far." By the end of Day 2, enrollments totaled 248 nationwide.

The White House predicted 500,000 would sign up by the end of the month, according to a memo obtained by the Associated Press, and that was considered a "modest start" for the market.

CBS notes that in order to meet the goal of seven million enrollments by March 1, the exchanges need to enroll an average of 39,000 a day.

During Wednesday's Congressional hearing, Health and Human Services head Kathleen Sebelius was asked several times for the number of enrollments. She explained that the data was unreliable and would not be available until mid-November.

"We do not have any reliable data around enrollment, which is why we haven’t given it to date," she said.....snip~

It appears Team Obama is already hitting back with their crap about they need to confirm the numbers. The other issue is.....they have a gag order on All the Techies as they had the numbers as to how many enrolled and or even went to the site. One thing is clear.....Team Obama cannot be trusted with numbers on any issue going forward. This the Right must constantly harp on. Obama can't even use the excuse of he didn't know. As now they have reported that he gave over 100 Speeches touting about how people will not have to change or give up their insurance policies. We don't need to hear Obama try to confirm numbers at all.

Yet Obama wanted to tout that 700k had went to the site.....those numbers they wanted to confirm. Quite the Decievers aren't they?

Do you think someone should explain to team Obama and the Democrats.....especially all those that were on that Hearing yesterday trying to explain away why Obamacare is so good and sticking up for Sebelius while purposely using dates they new that the Media had already busted the story out on.....that they don't get to count all those Bots that ran to his site.

Shouldn't the Republicans rub it in those Democrats faces that tried to go all technical with what they said......that they can't count Spiders. There is no counting Baidus from China as Actual people going to the site. Saying sorry isn't good enough when they lie to the American People while trying to steal their money.....then force a product upon people.

Looks like the Democrats just gave the Republicans the Senate.....now we will just need to Keep those Neo-Cons in check.

I never said right wing CON hacks couldn't or shouldn't post.... just callin' it as I see it!

CONs have to short term memory loss to complain about such silly crap. Our nation was once famous for outreach, now partisan CONs decry it. :roll:

For the record the outreach isn't giving anything away, since we have many economic ties with the Muslim world, why not invite a few very select scentists come and partner with NASA? Problem with CONs seems to be they paint everyone with a broad brush- well everyone but themselves, there they can find more layers to CONdom than an onion... :lol:

But leaving the CON nonsense behind the best and brightest minds the USofA could produce and import failed numerous times trying to produce a rocket that could clear the launch pad. Poor policies, designs and testing killed 3 astronauts in Apollo 1 and damn near did in Apollo 13.

Yet CONs are right in there declaring just how great that program was (especialy when using it to decry the current state of affairs in NASA- though they also decry NASA as too 'governminty' and bringing the private sector into space exploration)

Fact is it is waaaaay too early to declare the ACA a failure- well unless you are trying to run a CON game....

Now, if the damn site would actually work, who knows what could happen. Imagine that 666 people would enroll on the first day. A small but real possibility, with most ominous and macabre repercussions.

Hats off to Field-Marshal of Healthy Human Servants (or whatever she is supposed to be) Kathleen Sebelius for sacrificing her reputation to avert such catastrophe.

The policies for the Apollo program killed three astronauts as the pure oxygen capsule with poor escape procedures, and flaws in the early capsule design doomed the crew of Apollo 1.

To be of the Wrong Stuff and quickly drop a program because it wasn't a huge success is what wimps and frenchies do.

CONs are a queer sort of folk. So rigid to see some things through to the bitter end but so quick to abandon others before the new has been knocked off of it.

Good thing this current batch of CONs were not incharge of NASA as we strove to find the Right Stuff..... :doh

The Right Stuff was an excellent movie and showed an America that no longer exists, sadly. One where we tried to achieve greatness, not false equality in outcomes. Where hard work and tenacity lead to an achievement that has helped make our world what it is today.

But here's the thing, Obamacare is the destruction of Liberty, the enslavement of people to the demands of an overbaring Government. NASA in the 60's was about achievement. You're attempt to draw parallels fails miserably.

Conservatives are for voluntary outreach, not enforced wealth distribution. Conservatives are for personal responsibility not nanny-state dictates.

So I can't log on, and my insurance dropped me, and when I finally can log on, I can't use my doctor, and what do you know, my hospital opted out of the program, too.

Can't wait to go the free clinic!

You forgot that once you DO sign up, you get higher deductibles, coverages you don't want or need, higher out of pocket costs, but hey, you can get a free mammogram! Just make your appointment 9 months in advance and don't miss it!

Why? Point of the thread is that it didn't work at first, therefore it's an abject failure. NASA went through a few hiccups at first, but we didn't just declare the whole thing a failure and give up.
