If Tester, Heitkamp, Donnelly and a couple of other more moderate Democratic senators join this group of seven the delay will happen. I do not think the extreme left senators like Reid, Murray Schummer, Warren, McCaskill, will ever join this group. But I could be wrong.

In a speech on the House floor Wednesday, Rep. John Barrow, a Blue Dog Democrat from Georgia, called on the president to delay implementation of the law’s individual mandate, which is set to be enforced Jan. 1.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., asked President Obama to extend the open enrollment period beyond the current date of March 31, 2014, until the website glitches are fixed, arguing that the problems have dampened people’s ability to sign up for the exchanges.

Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., who like Shaheen is up for re-election in 2014, announced his support for the New Hampshire senator’s call to extend open enrollment in the exchanges and asked the administration to clarify how it would enforce the individual mandate.....snip~

Mark Pryor is an interesting case, he trail Rep Cotton in the polls for next year and that poll was after the shutdown. Arkansas is GOP territory and I would wager he goes down next year. He was one of the most vocal senators back in 2010 for the ACA. But don't hold your breath for landrieu of LA to join these senators, she is comfortable ahead of any Republican opposition and after all, she was bribed to vote for the ACA and against the people who elected her.

Well, more are jumping ship and note what Colorado Says.

Several Democratic senators this week called for Mr. Obama to extend the enrollment period and to consider delaying the tax penalties that will be levied against Americans who don’t have coverage.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, New Hampshire Democrat, led the call Tuesday, and on Wednesday two of her colleagues, Sens. Mark Begich of Alaska and Mark L. Pryor of Arkansas, joined her.

House Democrats received a briefing Wednesday morning about progress in fixing the website from a top Health and Human Services official. Afterward, Democratic leaders said they didn’t talk about delaying the individual mandate and that it was too early to make that judgment.

“I think that we’re certainly not at that bridge, and I don’t know that we’ll get there,” said Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Maryland Democrat, said. “Right now, I think the president is doing everything in his power to bring in all the expertise he needs to resolve this problem. If we can send a man to the moon, we ought to be able to resolve this. We will be able to resolve this.”

Nevertheless, one Democratic lawmaker did call for a delay Wednesday — for a wealthy ski-resort county in his Colorado district suffering from severe sticker shock. Rep. Jared Polis said in article published on Solutions, a Colorado health policy website, that “we will be encouraging a waiver” of the sign-up penalty for Summit County, which hasn’t had a single enrollment yet for the state’s Obamacare exchange

Several Democrats did say the president should hold his aides accountable for the hiccups, including Rep. Xavier Becerra of California, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus....snip~

Re: Democrat Manchin Breaks Ranks to Back Mandate Delay..... [W:31]

why celebrate somthing that the i.r.s can already allow:

    6. What are the statutory exemptions from the requirement to obtain minimum essential coverage?

Religious conscience. You are a member of a religious sect that is recognized as conscientiously opposed to accepting any insurance benefits. The Social Security Administration administers the process for recognizing these sects according to the criteria in the law.
Health care sharing ministry. You are a member of a recognized health care sharing ministry.
Indian tribes. You are a member of a federally recognized Indian tribe.
No filing requirement. Your income is below the minimum threshold for filing a tax return. The requirement to file a federal tax return depends on your filing status, age and types and amounts of income. To find out if you are required to file a federal tax return, use the IRS Interactive Tax Assistant (ITA).
Short coverage gap. You went without coverage for less than three consecutive months during the year. For more information, see question 22.
Hardship. The Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as the Affordable Insurance Exchange, has certified that you have suffered a hardship that makes you unable to obtain coverage.
Unaffordable coverage options. You can’t afford coverage because the minimum amount you must pay for the premiums is more than eight percent of your household income.
Incarceration. You are in a jail, prison, or similar penal institution or correctional facility after the disposition of charges against you.
Not lawfully present. You are not a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national or an alien lawfully present in the U.S.

    22. What qualifies as a short coverage gap?

In general, a gap in coverage that lasts less than three months qualifies as a short coverage gap. If an individual has more than one short coverage gaps during a year, the short coverage gap exemption only applies to the first gap.
Questions and Answers on the Individual Shared Responsibility Provision

of course this is from the IRS's own website, so call this information what you want to call it.

Still more will continue to come out now.

Meanwhile, House Democrats are starting to worry aloud about persistent problems with the rollout.

We will see what happens. But just because the web site isn't working is no reason for the GOP to start rejoicing. Keep in mind, that web site will be fixed.

I keep checking RCP for the most recent polls since the crash of the web site. There haven't been any. But I have a feeling the web site crash will be like the shutdown, in a couple of months both will be ancient history and things will return to normal. I also would like to see a party affiliation poll also.
